I believe this is a valid Quality Of Life request, and slightly higher priority than a "little thing" because it potentially impacts the sale of Aurum. :) So a Pocketbook-is-primary suggestion.

The lighting model in the ship preview window is ridonculous. It really has been for a long time, moreso since the shaders were improved to prioritise the skybox hue.

Here I am looking at the Firetail and trying to decide if the Justice skin looks nice. I can't actually tell the difference whether it's on or off.
Because it's filthy Minmatar space, swinging 'round to the sunny side ain't helping much. It's sorta there depending on my monitor brightness, but I don't actually know what the colour scheme is without the SKIN icon hinting at it.

The NES store is actually worse, if you can believe it. Topaz blue space everywhere.

What do I make of this exactly? I literally do not have enough information to make a purchase decision.

I can't reproduce it right now, but earlier today I managed to get the vanilla Archon preview appearing in front of a Gallente background. It naturally makes all of the gold appear green. I can live with green Amarr ships while piloting them, but its very weird for a preview.

"But this is how it's going to look in space."
"Yeah, no, I'm going to admire my ships in station lighting kindof a lot. That's where I'm going to feel happy with my purchase."

My personal strategy has lately been to log on to SISI, hop in a ship and apply the SKIN in station. That really sucks as a workaround. Thank Bob for CPPC.

Hopefully it's on the radar for the graphics team that there's room for improvement of the light sources. Maybe a button to change it up to a couple different presets? W-space especially seems not well reflected.
Happy Christmas.

Do not actively tank my patience.
