NPC null or Player null.

I just had my first stuck moment in Eve, and the GM transferred me to my home base, in Stain. Which makes me wonder if I should go ahead and stick with the base I already have, or move.

So now that I'm back and feel that I'm good at the basics of running away again I'm considering a new main base. I prefer null, but less regulated null. Meaning I want to be able to dock at stations since trading is my main profession. It's no good if I can't even dock or I'm never allowed out. So NPC null seems better on the surface. Lots of stuff going for it, but lower population is not great for trade.

Providence is NRDS (or was) and lets people dock at stations so It is one place I like to hang out. More people means more trade. I also have stuff scattered all over Providence. AFAIK Providence is the only null region that is mostly neutral friendly.

I used to be allied with Goons so I've stuff all over Deklein. Been stopping in Deklein and making remote orders to slowly sell the stuff off since I can't dock there anymore.

Any suggestions that I might have overlooked? Right now leaning towards sticking it out in stain. I also like to explore between trading runs.

If you want to concentrate mostly on trade, i suggest you check most npc nullsec for local trade hubs, and stock the market with whatever seems handy in these regions.

I would also keep a close eye on eve politics, for instance alliance deployments. Alliance A who can field 150 pilots settles in system B ? Check their kb, their doctrines, stock up the market accordingly.

If you have enough characters you can target a couple places and eventually become the local tycoon.

Stain is great for exploration as the local relic sites pay a lot. But don't rule out missions. While exploration content is finite and will create competition, missions are yours and yours only, and will be available at will. Of course, you have the gankers, but you will soon get to know them, their alts and tactics.

To sum up, study your market, check out the local isk making faucets, and assess the difficulty of logistics according to your characters and playtime.

Join CFC and knock yourself out in regards to trading and disappearing to the other side of the universe between trade runs :D

This will probably restrict you to that area of space in your trading though because CFC people don't tend to be hugely popular outside of CFC space, or so I have found.

It does provide a really neat and highly populated 'base' but it also has a bunch of competition, obviously ^^

When I was with FEAR we flew with CFC. Cool people, lots of fun. The only thing I didn't like was the tengu doctrine. Well, I didn't like doctrines in general since I like to fly experimental fits, and whatever alliance/corp I join's doctrines always seem to based on ships I don't fly.

My first null corp went out to Insmother? I forget, but it was ass end of nowhere and no kind of trade going on at all, so when my amarr ship got blown up, the only thing on the market was rifters. I didn't even have minnie frig 1. So I spent some time sitting in station waiting for minnie skills to reach minimum values.

Ahh well, now I'm decent at all races. But you bring up a good point. I'm putting the cart before the horse. Now that I'm back, I should considering joining a good corp again and that means I will go whereever the corp is.

Thank you.

Depends how you want to play.

NPC null is where the fun happens. Player null is where you go to feel safe as kittens.

Your choice.

Dangit, and I was just about to go player null, but I play for fun, not safe null sec, which is what sov null feels like.
