Hello everyone.

I would like to inform you that the team is now live and ready to ride the forums alongside you. Recruitment is not over, a lot of you that have pending applications will hear within the next 2 weeks! I promise.

We would like to use this thread to introduce ourselves. You are welcome to ask us anything you like, but questions regarding your application will not be answered on the forums.

I will start with myself and i am sure my minio... slaves... umm... fellow CCL's will pup up in here shortly aswell.

As you have guessed my name is Eshtir, i am the acting VA for the CCL team. Im with ISD since May 2005 and an Eve player since 2003. I have been a member of the old forum moderation team, CRC,I also was a BH and with the YARR team. But i am looking forward to take part in some of your discussions and maybe meet you at this years Fanfest.

For those of you who may not have been around when we announced the CCL team you can read all about it here.

It is an honor to have such a dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to making the forums a better place and who will be working with the Community team to ensure that issues are reported to us as quickly as possible so that we can get those addressed for you.

Eshtir is a great guy who has been passionate about the volunteer program for a long time and has a wealth of experience in this field.

Hi everyone!

I am ISD Alassien and have been part of ISD since Feb 2011 in the department of YARR until position in CCL became available.

I have been an EVE player on and off since 2004 and seen some fantastic changes to the game during this time, oh and the wonderful community we have on here which I am looking forward to getting involved with. :)

Dear internet spaceshipmen,

Please note that I don't speak German, even though my alias seems to indicate otherwise; instead, I speak Russian, and it is this rare talent that will be mercilessly exploited by my ISD overlords. I've been playing EVE for three years now (taking breaks every now and then), and I believe that it is time for me to start paying back the goodwill I was showered with all along the way. There's a rumour around the interwebs that getting hugged by Guard is comparable to an encounter with a compact grizzly bear.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Hey ShipToaster,

Allow me to dive into your questions and concerns. As we just started 2 days ago i think it is a bit early to provide trends and thelike to the Community Team. We have not replaced them, they are still here and browsing the forums aswell. Let us get used to our new job and you will see that we will engage in discussions and send the feedback we gather to CCP.
Let me make it clear that we are not Developers, we are a new link between yourself and CCP.

Everything we can do has been stated in the Dev Blog about the CCL team, and i quote:

The revised role of the Community Communication Liaisons (CCLs) will be a two-pronged approach of helping to maintain the forums as a healthy venue for discussion and enhancing communication between CCP and players. Volunteers will be granted roles which allow them to:

Edit threads and posts – Volunteers can remove offensive, trolling, flame and spam content in threads and posts. These edits will be monitored by the Community team daily.
Move threads – If a thread is created in the incorrect forum subsection then volunteers can move it to the correct area.
Moderate thread titles – If a thread has been created with a misleading or incorrect title then a volunteer can change it to something more appropriate.
Delete posts – Posts which contain keyloggers, pornography or inappropriate links can be deleted. These deletions will be monitored by the Community Team

We also have the ability to lock threads.

We are monitored by the CCP Community Team, Gm's and Internal Affairs.
If you think a member of the CCL is doing something wrong or is abusing its power, you are encouraged to file a petition against the offender. You can also drop internal affairs an email about it. (i provide the adress later)

It has been stated several times that its not the case. It is a shame that it happened, as CCP lost some very talented people.
But i also know that the process of creating the CCL team began way before that all happened.

I seem to recall (probably inaccurately) something that, in maybe pre-2007/8, ISD partook in forum moderation, but this excercise was eventually abandoned due to overzealous/uneven-handed moderation.

Could you please say if this was:

1) True (my brain cells are getting older and older...)?

and

2) What systems are in place to ensure an unpaid volunteer (as opposed to a full-time, paid member of staff like Mitnal / Navigator / Zyrmugist) doesn't go on a rampage across these boards, grinding axes / settling scores / w/e
