Ice belts should have visible cool down timers known to the player

For some reason I figured I should have suggested this a long time ago but...

The fact that ice belts are on a 4 hour timer does not annoy me, but the lack of logging on in the middle of the day and not knowing if the belt was mined out 10 minutes ago or 3 hours and 10 minutes ago makes this uncertainty annoying.

Adding timers for players does not actually affect the economy as the same ice will be produced.

Hell, I'd be willing to pay 1 million isk at a station for ice belt times.

To simply know the status of when they will come back will allow players to know if they have time to go do other activities or if they might as well log off for the night.

Unless mashing the scanner button every 5 minutes is a valid way to create content...

Is the title a question or a statement? Fix it one way or the other or GTFO, thanking you kindly.

As to your 'problem', it doesn't really strike me as a big issue - there is a lot of uncertainty in this game, from whether the site that you are scanning down is already in the process of being run or if that wormhole is close to collapse. This one really isn't that much different, the only exception here with the variable being time.

Don't be so salty. No one gains any economic benefit other than knowing if they only have two hours to play before bed, that they can either wait or do something else.

Uncertainty that is content is not knowing if you'll be the a target of a gank.

Uncertainty with no content is pushing the scanner every 5 minutes for three hours.

You are being negative because you are sour. God forbid CCP add a small change to help casual players who play less than four hours a day.

No-one else gets respawn timers for any of the other content that respawns either.
Find something else to do, like ore mining in the same system. Form an ice miner intel channel that shares information about spawns with each other, create an out of game tracking tool.

This is my arguement for why there shouldn't be a timer on things like this.

You know there's more than one system with ice in it, right? Get a small, fast ship, scout around, and go where the ice is when you're online. Also, if you get farther away from the major trade hubs, you'll find systems with ice where no one mines it, meaning the belts stay a lot longer.

I like the idea of being able to find out for 1M isk at the station (or perhaps more) - new isk sink, just need to tune it so the maximum amount of isk is removed from the economy.

the beautiful thing about this isk sink, is that generally mission runners/belt ratters create isk when they PVE, buy stuff (either upgrade or for PVP) and move that isk to market toons who in turn restock from industrialists and move that isk to them...... then it sits there..... until they lose a ship.... now it actually leaves the economy!

WELL DONE OP!

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

id rather they came back randomly through out the day and no one knew when they'd next spawn.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

Actually, I'd be find with that for some reason. Right now I am OCD about my time because I work full time and have to get 8 hours a day.

Today is a perfect day of why it drives my OCD crazy.

Log into two system... Nither has ice. No one in local knows if when they despawned so it could be 10 minutes ago or 3 hours and 50 minutes ago.

I can't play for 16 hours straight so I don't know whether I should go out to eat, keep playing EVE, or play another game like Total War arena with friends.

Id like the game to not mess with my mood so much.. I am bipolar and I should be compensated.

Your OCD has nothing to do with this game.

go play something else.

Or you do what I did, ask the miners in local - I know that magic intel tool for the paranoid ones.

Ask and you shall recieve. They always like to share and even give you links if you ask them.

I think it should be ether be spawn aintervals intervals or give an inaccurate estimate just like wormholes do know. Or even respawn seemingly with the same region (only the system with ice) just like the scanable site do.

So negative and salty.

Can you give a valid reason why this would have a negative impact on the game?

As stated, grow up and accept the uncertainty, I'm sorry that CCP cant hand you every desire to make as much ISK with minimal effort. I dont even want to HEAR about uncertainty until you live in a wormhole (And even THEN I would tell you to can it since you decided to live there.)

If anything, I would like to see the static 4 hour timer moved to 3-5 hours with a 4 hour average. Then whoever kills the belt can't set their own timer and be guaranteed to be there when it respawns within 5 minutes.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

This. Nowhere else in the game do you get respawn timers like OP wants, so why should ice miners be a special snowflake?

I fully support this proposal. Much better than the OP's idea.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Would be nice if ice belts were randomised so that they would spawn across a region rather than the same system every time.
