Move back to your old background, imo.

The contrast was better and the lighting in the old background went very well with the lighting of your face. This background is too busy.

I like the offset, zoomed in positioning of your avatar, which makes it very memorable.

Sound advice, thanks. I like yours too, nice color theme and creative use of eye shadow. The angle gives an almost spiritual feel, as if you're praying, or communing with the force, or something like that. All the metalwork is a bit much though. 9/10

I like how you have a monocle and the other eye left in shadow. Also your position in the frame and the background that emits light appears that it is shining on the side of your face. The spikey shoulderpad is neat too!

I like the scar at the corner of your mouth, it's hot. Call me.

Really really like the red theme you got going there ,

Makes me think of one of my favourites Gregor Parud but with more character and a little less like a classical portrait.
the lighting and pose work well together and show the structure and planes of the face off very well.

It's got a really nice feeling of depth (literal sense) to it that these portraits are more often than not lacking.
The angle from solder to shoulder is doing this, combined with the now much more prominent structure of the the face due to the lighting and unified pallet seem to give it a solid presence.

Generally speaking I hate the monoclonal, that particular hair and facial structure and in previous iterations of your portraits I would have held as marks against it but this one seems to work well and despite my subjective dislike of them I really like the end result.

I might play around with the negative shapes a bit but the composition is quite strong as is and I know how finicky it can be to get something that really pops like this.

all told I'd give it a solid 9/10.

Deep stuff.

Thanks Ralph. I play with my portrait a lot, mainly because I spend all my money on clothes and I'm vain. I really appreciate the time you took to write your critique and I'll look into what I can do with the negative space (perhaps a parrot?) shortly.

I've always loved your portrait and I take issue with anyone that refers to Nosferatu when describing it. I think it's comforting and homely, a bit like Whistler's Mother but with less crinoline and more footstool. No, you could do with just a touch more footstool, just to raise you up a few pixels. Having said that, I love the fact that the minimal use of color and the well placed lighting really makes your features pop.

9/10 from me too.

Much love x

I'm self-consciously aware of the relative lack of eloquence and insight such a comment must now exhibit.. but still.. awesome, 9/10

Nice symmetry with the angle of your face in relation to the facial tattoo.

I can't help myself, but I feel that your goggles are crosseyed. These and your smirk give your avatar a nice humorous touch, imo.

Needs more sparkle. Maybe some glitter?

7/10. I like it, there's just something, 'missing' I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe lighting? Or perhaps positioning. I don't know. The headgear + monocle is cool though, and the smile is creepy.

Grrr.

Nice positioning, the scar is highlighted very well also. Memorable.

9/10.

Yeah, she certainly is pretty. The colors match well and I really like your eyes.

What hurts your avatar though, is the ID card like, frontal shot. It makes it feel very generic, imo. There are so many possibilities to make an avatar more interessting with lighting, posing and positionig.

5/10 - I generally dislike those "I am pissed, angry and arrogant" avatars, even if that expression was not your intention.

I think I already raed you in the past, so i will just suggest you to get rid of that background and use a solid color one. Those geometrical backgrounds look so silly-CGI-from-the-80s... Portrait is a 7/10 but could improve.

Roses are red / Violets are blue / I am an Alpha / And so it's you

You have hand for chosing good backgrounds that go well with your avatar. I really enjoy that with your creations.

I picture Ishtanchuk as a chic and vain person, so I think she would try to hide the imperfection that the scar reflects, rather than showing it openly. In my opinion you should get rid of it. It seems like the new thing to do, to make a character a little more "edgy" - pretty girl + a scar. Doesn't usually fit the concept of a character imo.
