Are noctis so expensive they are worth suicide ganking now? Or is it all about the angst?

Just getting back into Eve. I finally have stable internet again. o/ Sabriz.

Luke. Newbie Q&A is a great place to meet people. Just remember no matter how friendly we are here, many of us won't hesitate to shoot you on sight. Just keep a cool head and never take anything personal and you will go far.

There's three main reasons to gank Noctii.

1) There is at least one person who builds and trades a lot of them and pays newbies to gank them from time to time (whenever she has too much stock).

2) For fun.

3) For extortion purposes. "Pay me ISK or you will end up like HIM".

Cannot agree more with the 'never take it personally if someone shoots you'. It's not personal, it's business.

Well sometimes it's personal. Nursing grudges leads to some of the best content in EVE. But as a newbro you probably haven't given anyone cause to care that deeply about you (yet! Big smile).

On the topic of salvage...I really can't think of any reason to use a noctis over a t1 destroyer now that MTUs exist to do the tractoring for you. They are much cheaper...no one will gank them unless they absolutely despise you...and they do the job very nearly just as well.

Agreed (on both points).

After Erica and her family were betrayed by her former partner she undertook more than a month of warfare against his corporation and their alliance (all of whom had nothing to do with it directly). The revenge of a woman scorned! After finding and seeding their wormhole corp's C3 Erica brought a forty man fleet in and killed everyone/burned everything down. Simultaneously the rest of their alliance would also fold, in no small part due to months of relentless wardecs by most of the biggest highsec merc groups.

So yeah sometimes it's very personal. Smile And cost is no barrier to that.

Also yeah, with a salvage destroyer and tractor these days there's really no need to put something worth 50 times more on the line like a Noctis. While it may be 'relatively' safe in highsec I'd certainly never use one in wormholes. It will die, likely sooner rather than later.

Packrat MTUs are about as luxurious as it should get in hostile space. They reach further and tractor faster, good for a quick clean up when you could get jumped anytime.

Especially when trying to increase your noctis revenueTwisted

Hi all! I'm a new player 11 days into the game and I'm loving every moment of it.

Have been doing level 2 security missions in my Thorax and realised I should do salvaging to squeeze some extra isk out of my wrecks... therefore I modified my catalyst to the role of a salvager and have been cleaning up the mess after every two missions or so..

I find this not so efficient and rewarding as some players have been salvaging and told me it's a lucrative business and earning up to 60million a day. I have been working hard and slogging it out but only able to reach 15% of that.. am I doing it wrong? Or is there any way to do it better?

If I were to take my catalyst and enter a wormhole and do salvaging and relic hunting.. how should I fit my ship? Is it advisable?

Thank you for your advices in advance.

I'm new too and this route sounds a lot of fun. Real newbie question though, where do I find security missions?

Peoples & Places, there's a button called Agent finder.
