New Hurt is a collective of Ubiquitous Hurt (UHURT) pilots and part of The Wehurt Initiative (FIGHT). We are organizing our new player help into one corporation. For those unfamiliar with UHURT, we are primarily a PvP based corporation, frequently associated with streaming and NPSI operations, but our pilots have their hands in a wide variety of activities including exploration, incursions, wormholes, trading, production, in fact, almost any major activity in EVE!

The focus of New Hurt is to help new player overcome the entry hurdle into EVE, determine what they want to do, and help them focus on making themselves better at their career of choosing. Additionally, to help players that may be burned out on their current choices, we take veteran players that are interested in learning new aspects of the game they have little to no knowledge of.

Many corps help focus training on one particular thing, and others train a wide variety of things, but ultimately hope to retain the players they recruit. New Hurt is taking a slightly different approach on training new players, by helping them move to a more career focused corporation once their training period is over, or giving them responsibilities (i.e. training others) within the corp as needed.

  • No minimum or maximum SP requirements. Trial accounts welcome!
  • Pilots join and are trained for a maximum of three months. After this period:
  • The pilot finds a more specialized corporation for the activities of their choosing
  • Takes on additional roles within the New Hurt corporation as needed
  • Conventional skill book and ship program
  • No segregation in services from alliance. Voluntary jabber access, public teamspeak use

We want to make pilots that are independent and can rely on themselves for content, setting goals, and progression, rather than having players that only participate when one of a handful of organizers are around. Setting them off into the world ready to do whatever they choose instead of what other players want them to do.

Because FIGHT is a smaller alliance of tight knit pilots, we can train in not only in a traditional, formal training operation on topics the members choose, but also easily provide 1v1 help with direct Q&A and execution of examples. We focus on doing things that we enjoy and each pilot is responsible for creating their own content, as well as their own income which gives us a copious amounts of experience to pass along.

We look forward to helping your career in New Eden! o7

Personal background: I started EVE in December of 2012, having experience in many aspects of the game including null sec, production, wormholes, and enormous amounts of PvP. I started streaming on twitch.tv almost immediately after I started the game, using the platform to help people better comprehend the complex sandbox that is EVE. Answering questions ranging from “What is the best way to make money” to “I’ve never seen EVE. What is it?” (not easy questions to answer). For almost three years I have dedicated my stream and a great deal of my ingame time to initiating new players, and advising returning pilots. I look forward to helping the next generation of pilots that come into the game.

I am SUPER excited about this, and cannot wait to play an active role in helping with the one on one sessions.

If you've seen our streams, you know we are serious about helping the new guys learn!

Boarding the bandwagon! Lots of corps out there doing some great new-player stuff these days. Just wanted to add my 2 cents on what makes this different:

This isn't a UHURT farm team. We're legitimately interested in supporting new players in doing anything and everything that interests them. UHURT is a PvP entity, you don't have to be! The goal here is to offer a more 1-on-1 approach to learning EVE by having experienced players pair up with newer players and take them out for a roam/exploration run/manufacturing spreadsheet session etc.

We're lucky to have a really awesome group of dudes in the alliance who are extremely capable and motivated to help get other people interested and more comfortable in EVE. Even if it's just for lack of a better place to go, we'd be happy to have any and all of you hang out with us for a while!

Cheers!
