Sound and Backdrop messed up since Frostbite patch

Logged in this morning and the game patched.

Now all my sound is crazy loud, no matter how far I zoom out.

The space backdrop also looks zoomed in like I'm using the advanced camera, but I'm not. It looks really bad.

Having 3 accounts with all the sound blaring away, I have to disable ALL the sound.

The new backdrop is intended but it's a little pixellated. Doesn't look that great. Nice but needs work. I also had a bug where all of my sound died completely after I opened and closed the map via F10.

Yup, it looks really bad. Especially with 3x 27" monitors.

I'm more concerned about the sound issue, as having to turn off all my sound affects my experience fully.

I have an identical setup lol, perhaps it's a surround issue.

I'm not using surround. I'm just using Windows Landscape view.

It appears all ship sounds are indeed loud and unaffected by zoom. Can we have an option to have it the old way that we've been playing with for how many years now?

F10 also removes Turret sounds, the UI clicks etc remain but thats it once you view the map.

Yea that's interesting.... when I hit F10 and move the map around, the sounds is affected like it would be if I was moving the Camera normally.

ie: I'm sitting at a wormhole and have it off to my Right side. Now normally, if I move the camera around the Wormhole Sound moves in proportion to my camera movements. I like to leave it off to the right (in my right monitor too) so I know when the wormhole fires. As of right now, (after this patch) The wormhole noise is just everywhere, as well as environmental sounds, ship noises, turret fire....everything. No matter how I move the camera or how far I zoom out.

When I hit F10, and move the camera, I can now hear the Wormhole moving with my camera. So I assume in Map mode, the sound is taking the properties of what SHOULD be happening with the map closed.

I'm hoping this is a glitch, and not the way it's going to stay.

Indeed I have the exact same issue, I submitted a bug report but with 8 miners on grid I can't even use TeamSpeak it is so loud

I just received a reply to my Support ticket. Apparently they are aware of the issue and are working on it.

Oh god I hope part of the issue they are working out is the sound volume depending on zoom level... I depend on the zoom out to quiet sound to an absurd degree

The new patch fixed it...sort of.

The sound Still gets loud when you zoom in and out in the F10 Maps. It used to be nice and quiet and have that aura sound when scanning signatures...

Now when you zoom in and out whilst scanning sigs, you just hear your ship get louder and quieter, lol.

Also, when Im warping and I zoom out as far as I can go....I can still hear my ship warp, even WITH advanced Audio Settings "Warping Effect" turned right off!

Just noticed this thread, posted about the same problem in General Discussion.

I've noticed that with today's patch everything seems to work correctly after I undock, only to revert as soon as I jump into a new system. In other words, sounds get quieter when I zoom out, but as soon as I jump into a new system, the engine sounds start playing at full volume regardless of how zoomed out I am. Very noticeable when warping. I've just disable engine sounds entirely for the time being.

well the patch patch today at 9.12. fixes the "zoom-volume" bug for me...
but NOT these terrible sfx really!
all sound effects still sounds like they come out a c-64!
like overmodulated, scratchy,...

never change a running system!
