Oh but the monocle and my cool & fashionable clothes are visible to everyone (thus also reflecting my superiority over the rest of you) whereas skins aren't visible in game cause everyone plays zoomed out anyway.

Lots of carebears play zoomed in.
Most people who actually engage in combat don't, ofc.

I'm sure many explorers play zoomed in as well, carebears or not.
Or truckers. A trucker spends most time alone in warp.

Most visual fidelity is made for people who play zoomed in ...
... so believing everyone plays zoomed out is complete nonsense.

Not everyone sees your character portrait either. They usually aren't paying attention to them.

Also, I zoom in. I like the visuals in this game. The ships, the explosions, the characters, the stations, etc. Which is why I've bought several skins as well as, yes, clothes and a tattoo for this character.

Not only that. Everyone. And I mean EVERYONE likes to admire their ships every once in a while. Anyone who says they don't ship spin is lying.

But they do! In the forums the portraits are very visible and in the peoples' minds unconsciously connected with the nicknames next to them. And after all, the most important features of Eve online are obviously the forums and the chat channels.

In short: Style matters.

But this is a horrible ugly skin for an ugly ship which is given to people who buy 28.... TWENTYEIGHT plexes. Man's gotta have a hobby but 28 plexes is just lol, especially if you try and justify it with the terrible "free" skin. And the "well, we can so there" is no different from some clown in a 70 bil Nightmare (while still shitfit) doing lvl 4 mission and then gets ganked, we laugh at those as well.

Mr Epeen Cool

I agree wholeheartedly and I play zoomed out mostly.

Can confirm, people look at my char as if it was naked or something...........

And I use portraits actively to get guesses about a player's character or intentions. At some point I managed to deduct from the pic alone if the player was into having sexy times.

Either I am really good at that, or I'm irresistable.

You decide.... ;)

Your ancestors prayed to some kind of mother nature clay figurines for fat mamooths and even came to the point of drawing them on the walls of caves, in butt clenching fear of cave bears, and you only laugh? Tsk, tsk, tsk.

How much are the skins anyway?

I hesitate to drop 100 bucks into the game for a mere six billion ...

I know a couple of gentlemen inside PL with 250bil+ each and multiple super/titan toons.

These people can surely afford the SKINs you mention, however if they're not actively flying them or even buying them what does that tell you?

How having +250B isk & multiple titans toons makes you believe they have 500$ to purchase those PLEX and get those SKINS as rewards ?

I personally think it shows how skewed and out of tune ccp marketing is. The majority of people probably would not mind buying plex or Aurum for a cool skin promotion, but 28 plex is an underscore of how ccp continues to alienate its costumer base. It sets the goal so unreachable for most that they say bump that.

Gonna put myself on as pedestal for an example. I've got close to 100 billion in assets and isk and a nice rl savings, so why the heck would I spend hundreds of dollars on something I simply don't need? That is not being a good steward of my money, and is the reason I'm not begging on the street.

But let's say that offer was more reasonable like a three plex deal. Though I don't need it, I could twist my arm to take advantage of the promotion.

And this folks is why ccp will always mutter in silence that they don't have enough money because they lack the intellect regarding marketing. Every other mmo company has figured this out many eons ago. Offer unique items at middle price and offer them frequently. Customers will come in droves consistently and profit will increase.

I used to ship spin all the time until they added a counter for it. Also thanks for signing your post, if you hadn't done that then I would never have known who was posting.

That's one of the better responses I've got.

Thanks, made me chuckle. :D

Guard, real talk. I might buy this 28 pack, but I also might not.

I would because the current value of those Waschi SKINs is 9 Billion ISK, give or take.

I wouldn't because even with that much added ISK value to a PLEX pack, there's no guarantee the values of those SKINs will hold or mature. I simply don't trust SKINs to hold their value. Several SKINs are now being offered in discounted packs, randomly, and this makes SKIN investing a bad idea.

There's also nothing cool to use PLEX for. I play on annuals, and one of my characters has a stack of 16 PLEX sitting in Jita, all bought through PLEX sales. By extension, there's nothing cool to spend ISK on.

Some players might point out the value of that stack of PLEX will only mature, but I don't care about that. Whether I have 16 PLEX and a Billion ISK or 2,000 PLEX and 2 Trillion ISK, it doesn't bring any enjoyment to me. A Hel maybe, but someone seems to have a vendetta against anything above frigate and cruiser-class.

I try to have suggestions when I provide feedback, but I just don't know what would make this work. I know you're trying to entice me, and I want to be a good customer. I can honestly say though, if SKIN availability / exclusivity wasn't so erratic in the past, I would already have bought this 28 pack and posted about selling those SKINs for the extra ISK.

If those Waschi Parade SKINs are made available anywhere else, that is the problem I'm talking about. My guess is they're being offered in this 28-pack first, and will be in the NES individually later on.
