The test server is a good place to work this out of your system. Log in, get a pile of ships and go out and loose them all until the shakes stop. Then start winning, then come back to the real game and you should be fine.

How do you get the shakes on SiSi? For me, I get the shakes from the risk of losing a valuable ship. There's no risk on SiSi.

This is a signature.

It has a 25m signature.

No it's not a cosmic signature.

Probably.

Btw my corp's recruiting.

It's like anything that gets your heart racing, keep doing it & that will dissipate over time. The reason this happens in EVE as opposed to almost any other game is because everything you have on you at the time is at risk, whereas if you pvp in a game like wow or swtor you lose nothing.

Same thing would happen back in the day when I played WoW. Generally I have no idea why I get it, the ships I pvp'd with were only worth a few mil.

Also I think I am gonna stop solo pvp as the new Navy Maulus will be way too overpowered.

I always get nervous when I engage a war target, no matter what it was. I had an extremely enjoyable 45m fight with a Skiff in my Vexor. Playing the drone dance was a blast and now that pilot and I are looking to go hunting together.

And yes, back to more pvp when that Maulus Navy Issue comes out. Oh yeah...

Make a mental checklist of what you plan to do before you even start the fight. Write it down, say it out loud, go over it three times in your head. Do whatever you need to do before the fight even begins to make sure your brain already knows the plan. Then you just execute it step by step like you practiced. And if something goes unaccording to plan, now you have your full attention to adjust and deal with it instead of freaking out.

Seriously just pause before the fight. Think about what's about to happen. What damage type do you need to use? What range should you try to keep at? What are the possibilities for the enemy's fit? Sort out all these possibilities beforehand and it will be much easier to identify them during the fight (ie Oh crap! That's a rail comet, not a blaster comet! better get under his guns!)

The adrenaline rush is what makes EVE PVP so much fun.

If you PVP right it will never go away bc then that would take away some of the fun.

However, you will learn to work within the rush and that is when you will make your first step toward mastering the art of EVE PVP.

Be thankful once the shakes are gone they don't come back easy and you will be chasing that feeling in more expensive ships til you get broke :p.

Anyway as many others told you before find a cheap ship that you like and go die ALOT at your 20th ship you will go meh and start to notice stuff in the fight and be better at the game.

I got heart pounding because of pew so bad one day, I paniced and my heart started pounding because of the pounding, so it was double-pounding. If I wasn't busy gaming, I'd think I had a heart attack. I wonder if I can sue CCP for not warning about the health risks (though I'd probably die a happy man before that)!

I know the feeling well. Pretty much every time I try to engage a pilot. Which I think is due to being a bit rusty. It's the same kind of heart pounding I used to feel invading in Dark Souls until I figured out what my niche was and started to really improve to the point of being pretty darn good.

Join a corp that PvPs in a fleet. That'll help. You have a lower chance of being primaried and if you goof up no one will really notice.

You can do one of the NPSI communities like Spectre Fleet.

The only way really though is to just keep going out there losing ship after ship after ship.

Eventually you will end up an addict, chasing the dragon, seeking those thrills.

I have found that if you have the frame of mind that you dont care if you lose the ship you in it helps, i am still crap at solo pvp but I disconnect (mentally) from the ship I am in so if, or more likely when, it explodes I dont "care" so much.

I have only been using Tormentors and Imperial Navy Slicers, so it is not because I care about losing the ship.

I think a lot of people had that problem at start. The best way to control it and dilute it in adrenaline only is to do more pvp.

Do some leeroy stuff with VERY cheap stuff until you do not fear dying. If you try to learn to control that feeling while you are fielding very expensive t3 where a loss has serious implications will be way harder to learn it.

So you NEED TO LOSE THE SHIPS, not only "not care". Set yourself a goal, for example ' I NEED to lose at LEAST 30 frigates this weekend".

Btw that difficulty means you are an anxious person ( I am one myself), trying to discover why you have anxiety problems is another good way to solve it.

Alright, it makes sense to try and have that state of mind. I will try it out, thanks!

I am not an anxious person in general though... Just during pvp in this game and back a few years ago when I played WoW.

Just accept that you're going to die - alot. Your heart will still pound, but it will not make you freeze up as much. Don't fly what you care about losing. Save your fits so you can insta-buy a new one and get back on the horse.

My first pvp game was a long long time ago, and when you died, you literally went to hell naked, had to solve a puzzle to get back to the world, then hunt down your corpse and get your stuff(if someone hadn't already stolen it).

I died alot. It was brutal. It was awesome.

My heart still races, I just like it now.

That I know, and I do not give a crap about losing my ships, I can afford hundreds of them.

After a while it has gotten a bit better... Now I simply get angry cause some fights doesn't make any sense.
For example: I battled a beam fitted Tormentor, so I flew under his guns (I was flying a Crucifer) and had a tracking disruptor fitted with tracking speed script, however he was still able to hit me perfectly fine without use of tracking computer, rigs, nor enhancers. I made absolutely no sense. I near flipped from that fight.

Do not expect to fly under the guns of any ship same size as yours. On his place I woudl jsut change my view to your ship align my view to the path your ship if flying and constantly double click in space ahead of you. That woudl maek his ship fly the same direction as your, basically bringing the transversal to zero.

You might get a better experience with cruisers maybe. Their fights tend to take longer, and you have a bit more time to understand what is going on. Battleships are even slower, but you tend to get swarmed by smaller ships instead of finding a good fight.
