Status of suspect timer upon entering a FW site?

I have seen this mentioned in other threads - was wondering if the idea actually has traction. Personally my status is already shot, but since a lot of fights aren't actually versus war targets - it be nice that those of us that have pledged allegiance to a state could continue to do so and not loose sec status whilst pursuing our causes (depleting and o-plexing).

If it's just a fanciful idea that has been shopped - so be it. But if it's a possibility - where does the proposal lie?

Maybe only a suspect timer for non-FW players? That way neuts won't know as soon as they enter local if one of us are in a plex.

To be fair, we are in LS, and PvP will come whether we want it or not. And if you realy don't want to lose your sec status, don't want to rat or buy those special tags, then you could always run away Smile

I know it is hard to find, but it was mentioned in the CSM minutes day 4 :
http://pastebin.com/TiSSBX43
apparently they have still not added day 4 minutes to the official csm site.

the quote of interest:
"Sugar - With the 4 way war coming in, are you still looking at suspects going into plexes.
Affinity - With the suspect flagging, to me it's more important to lower the entry bar for new players to FW, so it'd be nice to keep them a little protected until they find their feet.
Gorski - How long is the suspect timer going to be?
Affinity - We don't know yet, we'll see. Probably shorter than the crimewatch one. It's just to put people on equal footing when they enter the plex, we're not worried about when they come back out."

"I'm all for pvp, don't get me wrong. I've ganked in Empire, blobed in low sec. Got T-shirts from every which-where.. But to be forced into a pvp confrontation that I didn't want is wrong ccp." RealFlisker

Just posted about this elsewhere. There does need to be some limited engagement timer when a neutral comes into a FW plex since waiting for them to attack first just gives them the advantage, particularly if you're AB fit and they've got a MWD kite fit. I'm down to -4.0 thank to neutrals.

I don't mind them being in FW space or coming to plexes to fights since I enjoy the battles but it's a bit annoying that it's limiting my ability to travel to highsec when all I'm doing is defending myself.

As one of those neutrals, I'd say a 15 second suspect time is both fair and resonable.

That actually sounds reasonable to me, as it should give enough time for whoever is in there to fire the first shot and not lose sec status.

In a 1v1 perhaps. When large numbers of neutrals engage inside a plex 15 seconds is not enough time.

The dueling timer is actual a very good comparison that would work well. If you have every used it, it works out pretty well. They just have to open it, as in being non private, so that anyone can engage. Two minutes goes by fast, whether you fly around in your pod or while you loot, upon which the 15 seconds did not provide enough time for, so, unless I'm mistaken, you will be flagged anyway for opening a non blue wreck.

I'd say if a neutral is in a plex, they should be suspect the entire time they are in the plex, and 2-5 few minutes afterwards (because actions have consequences amirite?)
