I'm getting the following error when launching my client from the beta launcher. I've already tried running the repair tool like it suggested. I've also already put in a bug report with CCP. Just posting here to see if anyone else is having the same issue, and if they have found a fix or work around for it yet.

Having the same issue! Haven't found a fix for 1-2 hours so i am currently just reinstalling the whole game and the Launcher.

Which takes ages because my download speed for the EvE servers is so slow (max 50 kb/s - i can manage 50.000 kb/s)

Hi, there.

The image shows an error with a file in your shared resource cache folder. Can you please try running rescache.exe in admin mode which is located in your EVE installation folder?

1. Navigate to your EVE installation folder.
2. Right click rescache.exe
3. Select run as administrator from the drop down list.

This should verify all the files in your shared resource cache folder and replace any corrupt files and hopefully resolve the issue.

With regards,

This looks like a permission issue we have been fighting with. You wouldn't happen to have a folder like this:
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache\bin\bin\staticdata which contains mapObjects.db ?

If that's the case, try deleting that file, and restarting the launcher.

Why yes, yes i do...

C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache\tq\bin\staticdata

its really odd too, because its a really long chain of folders that have nothing in them except another folder, and eventually a single file in the last folder....

Everything from the "VirtualStore" folder on down has only one folder in it, except the tq folder has a bulkdata folder with a single file in it "mapbulk.db".

All those folders for 2 files...

So i deleted the mapObjects.db, and ran that rescache program... which found 0 files corrupt and 0 files missing btw.

And now the beta launcher works again. Which is great, because i really like it. Even though i could technically just launch the game with the exefile.exe, but the launcher is definitely prettier, and makes it easier to launch multiple accounts now.

Do you happen to be on Windows 10? We have had some funky issues with permissions, especially when users have upgraded from Windows 7/8 to Windows 10. We hope to have put workaround in place so that this will not be an issue moving forward, but alas, some people have run into this.

Glad you managed to use the launcher, though. It warms our little hearts to see it being used.

Yea, Windows 10 Pro.

I originally did the Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro upgrade, but then afterwards i formatted my SSD and re-installed the OS fresh. Because seriously, who "upgrades" an operating system? Why is that even an option Microsoft? Even when I'm not "upgrading" i have to reinstall your OS once every couple of years to keep it working right, and you think an upgrade to a whole new OS is a good idea?

ANYWHO...

Thanks again for the prompt fix. Have a happy holiday!
