Questions about harassment

I scanned the TOS and multiple accts are not forbidden, they seem encouraged, and harassment in not particularly forbidden either.

im "riding out" my time in eve, and while doing so found a group of players who are somewhat active, i enjoy talking with, and what not. i was even going to see if we couldnt make it out to null sec before my sub expired, maybe i liked it and wanted to stay... high sec isnt safe enough for me.

or course, i have this one individual stalking me. every time i block an acct, he makes another one and contacts me again. now he is messaging me from other accounts, and then blocking me. I have more then 6 accts of his blocked now, and its pretty ridiculous. the contact is essentially every other day.

do i have to just abandon this character all together right now? the amount of contact i receive, and the type, are not the type i will be logging into a game to experience. i play for fun and recreation, not for these constant harassing messages from what i am going to assume is a mentally unstable person, based upon the language and amount of contact.

at this point, i dont know how to respond to unknown chat invites, because they can be him, and its very annoying to get these harassing chat invites and messages. i cant even enjoy the time i have left, which is unfortunate because it was much much more fun with people.

Due to some mechanics of the game, it is not very fun by yourself, or viable to be successful solo :(

any help other then "HTFU" plz, im in my first 60 days easily, and am a casual gamer. thank you!

My posts are here for me to cite when debating in chat, or as a record to devs should they wish or require them. With rare exception, i do not monitor, or reply to posts.

please take this in consideration, reply sparingly, cite your answer. thanks

Assuming what you say is true then you can create a support ticket. If this is actually happened with the severity as you say it does I'm sure they can help you. Having said that, if it turns out that you're been "asking for it" by being quite... vocal yourself that might change things.

The threads in your post history might give a little insight.

Each was full of hostile responses before closure. Including some pledges to hunt you down until biomass etc

In anycase if it's legit harassment then yep, file a ticket to alert the GMs and/or ask their advice.

yea, i have never used a forum before really. "F*ck that camper campincalvin" posts on previous websites were abundant, and i thought redundant. were you unaware of what was going to happen? like, i named my character that as a warning... so, i have never posted in a forum before. EVE online however, was such a different and magnificent game, i had to...

so, i just posted how i would speak, and tons of ppl felt free to take offense where none was offered, but other then a bounty, which was flattering (idky lol), it doesnt have to do with any of that, thank OMGesus....

its a dude from the 1st corps i was in. i wont write anything derogatory here, i will just say he was not polite... so i left. i thought it would end there, but he just keeps contacting me lol.

Send him my way.

I love weirdos and stalkers.

<3 Eve forums. You just need to spend a while feeling out the audience and culture, which varies from subforum to subforum. It's easy to predict the kind of responses you'll get once you know the community a little, then weigh up whether or not it's worth speaking your mind.

Depending where you live and what they actually said (real life threats versus in game threats) - if they happen to live in the same country as you it can actually be a criminal matter.

Smells fishy...

View the OP's post history.

This is not a legitimate question from a newbie. This person posts over and over pretending to be a newbie with 'halp i got ganked' or similar. This is at least the 3rd time. These are never help requests in good faith, they are interventions into EVE's metagame.

Also, I'm reporting your character name. Mysoginist speech is frowned upon in EVE, even when it is masked by misspellings and manipulating spaces.

Ive decided to tackle the problem head on, unblock all of him, and talk to my ceo about a wardec. this is eve, thats how you deal with it in eve, right?

after all, its not just me vs him. its me, my wallet, my corps, and my various social connections.

In most games, some of the practices of this game are not as abundant. im not really sure how to counter them. ive now done a ton research on eve, and when people say its "unlike any other mmo", they mean literally, not figuratively.

maybe i should be glad, this game is literally a "breath of fresh air". problem is "cold" is a concept, not an actual definitive measurement. so "eve is a breath of fresh air, but the airs cold outside" works :)

also, fly dangerously!
