EVE: Templar One - make it available for kindle

Just checked Amazon to see if they have a release date and noticed that it appears it will not be available via Kindle.

Is it possible somebody from CCP can find out if there are any plans for this to be released via Kindle

Also gutted that Tony Gonzales was one of many of many who is no longer part of CCP....

Would like to pass my thanks on to Tony for all the work he has done in creating a fantastic back story for our beloved Eve.

Sad to hear Tony's leaving. At least he's going out with a bang with his new book.

Seriously, I mean, Tony was Jove lore.

How do you even pick up after that? Just like, stop all progression of the storyline? What?

Pretty much.

Sack one of your IPs lead writers whose book promotes your next product? Yup that makes sense....

I enjoyed the first book by him and am looking forward to reading this one. I do not really want to buy a hard copy of a book when I have a shiny new Kindle to read it on. It does appear, that being a UK resident, Amazon do not sell about 60-70% of the books that I want (although they exist on the US website). Someone explained this to me as publishers being reluctant to sell in the UK as we have "weaker" laws protecting copywright. I don't actually know if this is true or not, all that I do know is this book is not for sale in Amazon.co.uk, and that is annoying. Perhaps I have the wrong end of the stick and I will be able to buy it as a .mobi soon, otherwise if someone knows what the issue is with e-books in the UK and Amazon, they could enlighten me.

welp, publishing does not really work like that.
CCP owns the ip, but I'm pretty sure the author owns the work and it would be between Tony and his publisher to expand the delivery methods for his book.
Pretty sure this would also involve royalties to the ebook maker, but not sure, I deal with actual print publishing and not ebooks, but I think its more than just making a compatible version and uploading it to AZ

as far as copyright issues in the UK, they always seemed to be more pro-creator than that, but it does seem like a plausible reason considering the copyright frenzy going on in the US right now

Its pretty simple really, publishers/authors have different agreements for the various english language speaking areas.

One is North America, another is UK & Europe and the third is usually Australia & rest of the world.

Its nothing to do with copyright enforcement, its simply that a different agreement is in effect between author/publisher for different regions.

If the publisher has no agreement from the author to sell his work in (for example) UK & Europe then the ebook won't appear in any of the European versions of Amazon's site. Edit - obviously for some older works the publisher may not consider it worthwhile to obtain that permission.

North American rights are normally agreed first as its the largest English language market.

I was able to get the audible version for free.
It takes forever to go thorugh, and I would prefer a written version because i'm not a native english speaker and looking up a word in the dictionary when you can't spell it is pretty difficult, but it's ok.

If you live outside of the US, Google for an US address (e.g. government buildings will do nicely) and put that in. The site will nicely fall into line and let you buy this just fine. Idiot publishers.

Oh yeah, re-hire Tony.

Seriously, buying a kindle just advertises the fact that A. Your house is too small for real paper books and B. You enjoy masturbating over the latest technology.

I know exactly what you mean! Just the other day I saw all these crazy youngsters using their "MP3" players. They bring nothing to the table and are just a ridiculous fad like that crazy cassette tape.

These people would be much happier if they just cleared a space on their shelf for a nice Victrola like I did.

I'd put money on this guy owning an Apple product.

Also, been reading Templar One on my kindle since the day it launched. Maybe you live in the wrong region.

Everybody owns an apple product in one state or another; juice, tart, the fruit itself, it matters little.
