Just came into 40-50b ISK. How to scale up?

I sold two characters I never use anymore a day or two ago. My wallet jumped from 7b to 48b overnight. I'm not sure how to scale up by such an extreme amount.

As it stands, I mostly make my money by running 6 reaction towers, which bring in around 170m per day in total. However, I'm already having issues selling off product as quickly as I can make it, scaling up to 20+ towers would both be a total pain to manage, and probably be a negative for me since I can't sell stuff fast enough.

I'm strongly considering just dropping a few billion on investing in PLEX just to ride their inflation, but I feel like there's something better I can do.

I've done station trading before with around 4-5b, but I have absolutely no idea how to scale it up by so much- just buying 10 times more stock isn't going to be helpful.

I know people here aren't willing to say "YEAH JUST DO THIS I DO IT AND MAKE TRILLIONS" - nor do I really want that. The fun in making money lies in figuring out how to do it, not actually doing it. I just have no experience working with this much liquid ISK, and "keep doing the same things but stick a 0 on the end" doesn't seem like it'll work well.

After reading MD a lot, but never really saying much I think that the general advice you'd hear is to diversify. You've obviously figured out that scaling up your reactions operation would be too much of a pain for you (without help). You came up wtih an idea for investing in PLEX. I say diversify even more. Maybe research and invest into some region trading to go along with some station trading. Or you can have your money work a little more passively and wait for the next collateralized bond or loan to start up and put some money into that (make sure they have a trusted 3rd party).

Congrats on your windfall, by the way, have fun! Keeping busy with various activities is the sure-fire way from getting bored.

very simple proposition for you OP.

Plex 2 characters, 2 accounts.

make 2 new alts & train them into purpose built characters that sell well (do research here)

sell when they reach target

no stress, set skill queue & forget.

p.s. Thulium.

With current plex prices I really don't see any profit in building toons right now though Ugh

Find a niche part of the game you understand very well, and use that information to derive something about items you expect to get more expensive over time, and invest in those.

For instance if you were an FW expert and happened to know that Amarr FW LP are at the lowest they've been in nine months (which probably isn't true, I just made it up for an example), you might consider buying lots of Amarr FW LP items like specific datacores from the market, with a goal of resale later.

There isn't any more. I went from 20bil to 2.5tril in 2 years doing it in the good old days but that was back when the profit margin was more than 50% of the cost to produce and sell. With the way the Bazaar is at the moment I expect you would actually make a loss if you tried.

You can low risk invest a chunk of it with me for a Bond investment. It is solely for supply and demand and no high risk such as market manipulation. It is a good choice especially if you are away for IRL duties.
