Thank you Sragir for your support .... Ugh

Anyway -

A Funny Thing happened on the way to a Fight.

It was Sunday evening and I logged in to EVE to finally do some ratting when a quick alliance fleet was called. OK the rats can wait lets go help.

I arrive at our staging system and almost immediately we are undocking in a small fleet of Caracals with logi and tackle support. Hmmm I wonder what’s up, this really is an emergency fleet. Our FC (slightly sloshed as it’s his birthday!) ploughs us quickly across 7 or 8 gates. It turns out we are going to help protect another returning fleet from a gang of interceptors. The enemy fleet runs as we approach, great, op success! OK so far so good.

The FC now decides as the fleet is out let’s go see if we can get a fight anyway. He “knows” where a good bit of fun can be had …… Oh no we are all going to died, especially as I said before he has had a few beers! We head off through into LowSec jumping towards another part of Null. Unfortunately this rattles the cage of the locals who themselves form a fleet rather quickly.

Now we aren’t a huge fleet, enough to take on a gang of interceptors, so when a LARGE fleet of Cynabals starts piling into the system we have just jumped into we know discretion is the better part of valour. Run! The FC fleet warps us, unfortunately we land right next to a POCO. Well I land so close to the POCO I’m virtually inside it. OK don’t panic we are safe for a moment. Errrrr NO! Seconds later Cynabals start landing on grid. The FC shouts “starburst”. Now I’m duel boxing which usually isn’t an issue, my dictor warps off safe but not the Caracal. I hit warp but I forgot he’s now part of a POCO. I turn back to the screen to see my Caracal bouncing off the POCO, it looks like a Chihuahua trying to hump a Great Dane! Oh s***t …. Oh well, needless to say it was turned to space dust in seconds. So for once the dictor lived and the DPS died but fun was had either way.

Returning to our corp TS my fellow corpies were really sympathetic (errmm) …. once the laughter had died down.

So I can‘t promise you unbridled success all the time in Discoverings (only nearly all) but whatever happens it is always great fun and a real laugh. Smile

We have a lot of active members here in Discoverings ranging in age from late teens to over 70! And to show we really are like a family as a corp we even have a couple of father and sons in game together!

So have a look at our website www.discoverings.net and if you like what you see come and have a chat with us on TS see what we have to offer you. Big smile

Stratops for alliance can sometimes be exciting Big smile and sometimes less so What? but whatever happens Discoverings is usually in the top 3 for participation. We also frequently have corp roams and help each other in ratting and mining as well as fits and sorting gear. So if you want to join a corp that has actual active members Shocked, with interaction in game and on TS come and have a chat -

www.discoverings.net

No drama queens, no CTAs (though we encourage alliance fleets when you can!) and no BS.

Are you sitting comfortably? ....... Then I will begin.

There was once a father who was nagged by his elder sons to play EVE. On the 3rd attempt he got the bug and joined them in the darkness of the void, mission whoring in Empire space. They created their own corp and ran mission after mission. They become bored. Then they dipped their toes into j-space, day-tripping and earning ISK along with the occasional ship loss.

This lead to the eventually joining of an industrial corp who wanted to enter into a wormhole and set-up a POS. All was well until the CEO went AWOL and the corp became stagnant.

The sons then had other interests leaving the father alone in the void. So another WH corp was joined but this too suffered a loss of CEO. He was replaced but things went downhill.

The father wandered alone in Empire for a while, creating a corp for his own amusement until the thought of venturing into the scary parts of space started to form as an idea .... NullSec. Never having even flown through Null he was unsure of what was in store. He scoured the Recruitment forum searching for a new home. He found Discoverings.

He was guided by his new corp on all that was required. How to get to his new home, ratting, mining, buy back and the encouragement required. The corp itself even developed a thirst for PvP having been a Carebear corp. The father learned much more in the 6 months in Discoverings than he ever did in the 3 previous years. One of the sons also joined Discoverings.

So if you want to expand your knowledge and have some real fun with all the opportunities the game has to offer have a look at -

Well, I hadn't actually realised that anyone bored enough may actually be reading this thread from the beginning to the end. Doing so will actually give any prospective member a really good sense of what the Corp has been doing it and how we've progressed as a team through the game over the last year.

Well, to that end; the first post has been fully updated to reflect our current activities, alliance and status!

We are always looking for relaxed, chilled and active toons to come and enjoy the fun with us. We are incredibly active so if you are looking for a Corp that is going places; is active in all major functions and parts of the game then you can do no worse than popping over to our Teamspeak at discoverings.net (no password required) and come chat with any of us. We'll be happy to answer any questions you may have (naturally where they are reasonable and not opsec related!)

We'll carry on blapping everything that is not BLUE in the game; expanding our reach and interests and hope that one day you'll be here with us getting right into the thick of it too!

EVE is just a game ….. Well yes it is but it’s a blooming good one. There are not many games where you can be a manual labourer by day yet the CEO of a large corporation by night dealing with billions in corp finances. Or a 50 year old CEO by day yet at night you sit in fleets being told what to do by a teenage FC, killing and causing mayhem across space.

Perhaps you are shy but in game and on TS you can come out of your shell and crack jokes and cuss like a private in the army. Or maybe you want to just sit back and listen to your corp mates and occasionally drop an insightful snippet of wisdom.

Whatever your occupation in real life, whatever you aspire to be in EVE, as long as you aren’t a drama queen, Discoverings could be the home for you. We have corp mates from all over the world and from all walks of life. Team Speak is active (and an essential part of the corp) and there is always someone to offer help or advice. We are laid back and friendly and here to have fun! Smile

Friday night on EVE ....

For us it is, when possible, a time to have some fun as a corp (though we do have fun everyday!). Last week we had a roam, well when we finally left the station that is! I think we had just as much fun sorting out what we were going to fly and having a laugh at each other as when we were searching through the void looking for a fight.

So if you like to have a laugh and can laugh at yourself Blink, you don't want drama queens just a bit of space drama Twisted and don't want CTAs but just to be encouraged to take part Arrow ....

Go to www.discoverings.net have a read and then if you like what you see join us on Team Speak, no password required.

November was a good month for Discoverings, the corp went from strength to strength. We hit the targets set by our CEO as well as doing extremely well with alliance participation. We gained some good new corp members and added a new feature or two to the website.

So if you would like to be part of a very active corp in NullSec, ratting, mining, PvPing and exploring why not come and speak to us on Team Speak at www.discoverings.net

With most corps you usually find there are a few active members, always the same ones logging in and partaking of corp life and as they get bored the corp slowly dies. At Discoverings we have always had a very active and quite large core membership and recently that core group has gone from strength to strength and increased in number. We have even gained the top spot (yes number one, first place, numero uno!!) in alliance participation of fleets! Shocked Not bad considering there are over 70 other corps.

Come have a chat and become one of our core members in corp.

November was a great month for the corp as being mentioned in earlier posts.
But for our membership too. We welcomed 23 new members in november Smile
Last week we had 6 new members.
Yes, we are growing bigger and you can tell by our busy Teamspeak.
Come on our Teamspeak and have a look. Or just sit with us in the lobby to get the corp feeling Big smile
