So caps might be a little to much, but what better way to say HUGE Shocked fan of the game this is like my 3rd time coming back in like 4 years.

Anyway here is my issue, I downloaded 3 days ago - so I have the latest and greatest, well not quite fast, you see when playing it at random it seems to through me to a white screen of death. Now I understand back in 2003 and 2011 users said that this was an issue, and recently with the latest mac OS 10.11 El Cap... it has raised from the dead once more to screw us all over.

Oh and to make matters worse, everytime I go to file an error report, do you think it files one or gives me the send box - NOPE it just launches a full-screen white box and BAM i have to command+q and then apple icon and force quit the eve launcher.

It's not the launcher issue I know but who ever made the launcher only allows 1 launcher to lunch at once (yeah that does not make sence) but try clicking play after the white screen of death has been command+q it wont work.

So I ask, patch or a fix coming? I'am sorry about posting my issue here, but the forum would not let me post in the mac section of the forum as I am a "new" user.

I would of kept my old profile but do you think I could remember the name of my character? NOPE - I knew the username and password but not the character. That is also another issue, if I move to another computer or run this game on windows - it's going to ask me to put in my players name - I wont remember it, and by hek I wont remember where I wrote it down. Can you please change this rule as it SUCKS!!!!

Other than that LOVE YOU KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK - and sorry about the issues above.

Not sure about the technical issues, but you might try bypassing the launcher (run .exe file directly) or using the new beta launcher.

If you remember the email address you used then you can make a new account with it. The eve account management page will show you other accounts using the same email.

You can go to the Eve online website and log in to your account and file support tickets from there if the client is crashing on you.

Also you should be able to see any accounts associated with the same email address. To recover lost accounts you can ask a GM for help. If you have access to the email address associated to the old account it should not be overly difficult. Certainly talk to a GM they are very very helpful .

Given that you are the first person to have posted this issue have you looked into all of the usual possibilities on your end things like driver conflicts etc.

Going to a more general viewpoint, eveyone I know that plays on a MAC has switched to running the Windows version using the dual boot capability, they never said anything about why and I never asked but now I wonder if something like this may be the reason.

Still it is not good that you are having this problem and contacting the GM may be your best option to resolve this.

The solution to mac client issues is unfortunately: Apple's Boot Camp + a copy of Win 7. Install Eve into that & you're set.

The real reason is the CCP has never made a real Mac client that runs native on the Mac OS -- the one in use now is simply a custom WINE wrapper. Given this, if you're faced with tech issues that cannot be resolved, it's just easier to install Windows on your Mac and run EVE natively, since Macs can do this task with ease.

Kind of a silly blanket statement which isn't very helpful. That's the computer that the OP has and we're here to help the OP. It's very true that Macs aren't for serious, hardcore gaming, but EVE is a very simple game in the scheme of things and could easily run natively on the Mac OS; it's just that CCP hasn't put the time into making a real client for it.

Wouldn't that mean dropping DirectX and rebuilding the engine with whatever Apple uses?

Sounds like a lot of work with little benefit to me.

*shrug*

Other MMOs do it. There's no use in saying that you support a platform if you really don't support it, is there?
