I have multiple monitors and would like to make better use of the screen real estate. If the windows weren't created as child windows, you would be able to drag them to other monitors. At this point in time, there's no reason to lock these windows to the main window.

-1 because this would not work for me.
-1 because of the dev time needed to re-code the entire client when they have other more important things to be working on.

have you concidered just making the main window bigger? EVE is one of the only games which just lets you go "2079x 1080 pixels without needing to faff about with eyefinity or nvidia surround...

I never worked out a client-based way of launching Eve in an arbitrary "oversized" window, but it is doable. I added a custom "fullscreen" resolution to my graphics driver setup (as Eve seems to pick it's list of resolutions from whatever the driver reports as a legit fullscreen rez) that matches the size of the window I want to launch Eve in. I've been running 3200x1024 across a pair of screens for a while. If the client had a manual input field for resolution somewhere the rest of the functionality is already in-client Lol

I keep my chat windows & scan windows on the right hand screen, with ship, messages etc centered on the left hand screen. If i could set an arbitrary "right hand edge of screen" for the in-space item icons to keep them off the right hand screen it'd be perfect.

edit: setup looks kinda like this 3200x1024 layout. Dscan, probes and drones live below the chat windows on the right hand side, overview lives down the right hand edge of the left hand side. The red line I've drawn on is at the transition point between the two displays.
