It's not that simple. Gallante seem to be based on both Western Europe and the US.

There are French system names, Greek ship names (Helios etc, Erebus itself is a Greek mythological place in Hades) with a bit of Italian thrown in (Villore is a place in Italy) and also a bit of US influence.

To say Gallante is French is a bit like claiming Caldari are Japanese because of the Japanese sounding system names or Amarr are Middle-Eastern/Turkish or Minmatar are Zulu/Maori.. Over simplification.

Of course according to SOME players all four races are actually American. The Caldari are US Business, The Amarr are Southern Slavers, the Minmatar are African-American/ Native-American and the Gallante are sort of US liberal/Democrats.

True..

But Gallentean names are British/French themed.

If anything, Americans would be Caldari, mixed with the Japanese, due to the business focus, aggressive culture (Re. Lore), and militaristic characteristics. Where as the Gallente dress as futuristic Victorian Era, mixed with some weird Hunger Games stuff, speak French (The addresses and stuff), as well as design of half the stuff they build has that 'artsie' feel, not dissing the Americans, but 'artsie' is not a word I would use to describe them.

Matari are German/Icelandic, with some African races in the mix, Amarr are very obviously Hebrew/Arab/Catholic themed, just look at the fashion and language, hell, the names even.

But that is just my opinion, everyone is entitled to their own, but those people who think all the races are American are just morons, show me the guy from Tennessee with the 50 slaves whereing a Muslim style headscarf wearing gold armour, haha! Funny to picture? Made me laugh a little, but yeah, anyone claiming that the Gal are American cause of the Liberal, Democratic, and Freedom stuff.. Is kinda thick.. Those 3 things came from the French first.. Plus.. Gal society is all about going against social norms and expressing ones self, that is more a European thing then anything, but as I said, you opinion is just as valid as mine, and if this doesn't seem liek it, I agree with you on everything you said, except the American stuff.

Two reasons. First, the armor fleet bonus. Its just good. Stupid good. An armor titan once died because the FC accidentally moved the boost erebus from his slot. The sheer amount of bonus that thing gives made a titan evaporate when boosts turned off for a few seconds.

Second, :ARMORMETA:. Everybody had armor titans, so everybody else gets armor titans, so that means an Erebus or an Avatar, or a spear if you're that cool kid who thinks EHP is for pussies.

This is the kind of exaggeration that I hate, it just spreads disinformation and confuses people as to the actual effect of the ship.

Erebus bonus gives you ~20% additional armor HP compared to a mindlinked bonus ship alone. While significant, that amount isn't going to make you "evaporate when turned off for a few seconds". It will make you tank a few more doomsdays or last a few more precious seconds but it's not really going to turn the fight in any meaningful way if your titans are actually dying through reps or getting systematically doomsdayed off the field.

You misunderstand, this is a documented episode that happened. The titan in question already had less than 25% armor so when the links went off his armor went straight to 0. This was unexpected and as a result he wasn't yet ready to refit to hull tank and melted in literal seconds.

Erebus isn't popular, otherwise CCP would have nerfed it.
That's how they balance things. Don't mind the looks of the ship, weaponry or anything - If enough people fly it, it's nerf time and that hasn't happened yet. So there you go.

This is why they are usually primary.

Check the kill-mail order in B-R5RB. [Of course being in range is also a factor.]

They have the lowest tanks... but do the same damage per DD... so you kill of the easy lower ehp ones 1st and then go on the the rest.

This be true.

The last patch notes when they did the BC updates basically said "the Drake is pretty cr@p but lotsa people already use it so we are not going to fix it".
