Shield or armor mach for Sansha ratting?

First off, I am aware the mach is a bad choice for Sansha space; however, this is about the only thing I can fly. This is my current fit; w/ Gal BS II (working on getting it to IV and then eventually V) I have a 52km falloff. The fit is way over tanked for anomalies and I can easily complete escalations (6/10 and 8/10) w/ company. My question for you guys is: is there any reason to go shield tanked against the sanshas? On the one hand, I would have seven lows, but since I'd have fewer mids for tracking computers, it probably would have worse application. So in summary: Shield or Armor for a mach in Sansha null?

Large Core Defense Operational Solidifier II

Large Anti-Kinetic Screen Reinforcer I

Ogre II x4

Based on all Level 5 skills, this setup sees over 1000 DPS, has a fall-off range of 85KM and all shield resists are above 85%. Shield booster is boosting 924 HP every 2.56 seconds. The Mach is a native shield boat as is.

Rule of thumb when I fit a ship for PvE is.
1) Can I shoehorn it into a shield tank? Shield tank leaves lows open for damage mods
2) Does shoehorning the shield tank take it out of my price range.

Which leads me to lol @ fit with 2x pith a invuls. If your fighting Sansha specific rats then just fit EM/Therm hardeners. Omni tank for PvE ships should just be reserved for lazy mission running where the resist profile needed can change or Epic Arc/Incursions where omni damage is applied.

If your ratting anoms, your facing a known enemy so omni tank is not needed. Otherwise your just making yourself a hilarious loot pinata.

*edit* Just eyeballing the OP fit and it seems fine. I'm assuming the faction smart bomb is so you don't have to waste time on frigs, which...sure. Honestly I would just bee line to pull range and make them fall in a straight line with 0 transversal to blap. Just remember cap stability is a crutch, you ideal want 2-3 minutes of cap running your tank.

Best contribution. Tell us some more grammars.

OP: Armor mach is fine. You lose a small amount of dps by not fitting a 4th gyrostab, but freeing mids for application makes up for that. 2x eanm ii (or 1 em and 1 therm hards), dcu ii and a ds repper should be enough tank, depending on the site. Or even drop the dcu for another gyrostab, but I personally wouldn't.

[Macha] try this long range fit so it would keep you from most of the troubles at safe distance

Damage Control II
Gyrostabilizer II x3
Tracking Enhancer II x2
Signal Amplifier II

500MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
Dread Guristas EM Ward Field
Dread Guristas Adaptive Invulnerability Field
X-Large Ancillary Shield Booster
Tracking Computer II

1400mm 'Scout' Artillery I, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma L x7
[Empty High slot]

Large Projectile Metastasis Adjuster II
Large Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer II
Large Ancillary Current Router I

what i really would recommend is Loki arty set up due to high natural em/thermal resists bot armor and shield

The offered set ups are all worse than the OP's for the specific use...

-Omni shield tank for Sansha ratting
- 1400s Macha when trying for best tick
- Loki suggestion with half the dps (or less maybee?)

... are all ridiculous and loltastic.

One good suggestion in this thread to OP was to ditch the SB, you dont need the cap use you dont need it killing your own drones, just no.

another semi interesting idea is to go for a light shield tank (not the one with the two pith-a invulns LOLZ) with a couple of trak comps so as to free lows for 4 gyro 2 ddas if you like maximizing dps (and isk) at the expense of afk-ness...

njoy....

Maybe it's just me but that's just wrong..

How about a True Sansha ship for ratting sanshas?

Eve Minions is recruiting.

Have you ever did fly Machariel?

Pretty much true, caude NM is fine to pop Sansha ships easily and tank yhem with ease.

The SB doesn't run permanently; I am never AFK. The nightmare is actually the ship I am ainimg for, but it would take me 2-3 months to be as competent in it as I am in the mach at my skillset. So it seems to me the takeaway is keep doing what you're doing and train for the NM?

I wouldn't go that far, the Orga- errm Phantasm does the job as well.

I have flown pretty much everything in this game from shuttle to Supercaps with the exception of ORE and freighters.

Machariel specific: Roam Machs in 2005, Nano machs in 2006-7, mission Machs evey now and again, solo XL anc Mach briefly, 1400 alpha Machs in fleet a couple of times and that about it... havent used it all that much in all fairness...
