The tournament is a lottery draw. Just get some people together in an alliance format that lets you enter, pay the plex and off you go. It really isn't even close to elitist. Hell I was on the NEO I winning team, I've played in a lot of alliance and neo tournaments in several alliances or groups. They're brilliant fun to take part in, whatever the result, and they only cost whatever gets blown up. So if you can afford to do it, go for it. You won't regret it, I promise you.
