The updated “quick reference sheet” by Purfect Dark. (Link in “New Citizens Q&A Resources” sticky) Reminded me I had created something similar in the same vein for PI production. There are a lot of good resources for PI production but it bugged me when I was a new player that there was no simple graphic showing all the info needed on one simple page/image, a quick reference or info graphic for PI if you like. So I created one, It helped me at the time and I’m sure it will help New Bro’s too.

Available here P2-P3 single planet production.JPG

It should be self-explanatory but briefly. The image is split diagonally into to 2 triangular zones; the bottom Triangle is P2, the second level refined product, (and the most useful for new bro’s) the top one is P3, (I still reference now and again if I’m changing Tech2 products I produce).
It’s meant to be read from the triangle out, or what you want to produce to what planet it can be produced on and then its component parts.
As an example, take Polytextiles (Bottom Triangle, 2nd column in).

  1. Follow the COLUMN it’s in to the top, you will see 3 Icons with the letters B, O, T (See Planet Legend). Now follow the row these Icons are on, left for the Raw material and P1 product.
  2. Now follow the ROW it’s in to the right to see 1 Icon a T. Again follow the row back to the left for Raw material and P1 product.
  3. So T or Temperate planet is the only planet available for single planet production of this product.

P3 products in the top triangle outlined in a colour indicate possible single planet production and the type of planet (It’s another story if you would want to do this)

That's it enjoy

"Whoops!
There was a problem displaying this image.
Retrying..."

Though I actually pay $2/month for Google Drive, that doesn't mean I don't think it is a really brain-dead service (their continued lack of Linux support prevents me from making them my primary cloud service).

I always recommend using http://eve-files.com/ as it doesn't have much of the stupidity of other sites when it comes to images (however, it does have some stupidity handling PDF, spreadsheets, executables, etc., requiring them to be ZIPed).

A hint for newer players.

The highest return is generally from exporting and selling P2. Turning your P2 into P3 or P4 will often give a drop in total value. What you gain is a higher ISK/m3 meaning you get more per Epithal/BR run and need less runs to empty your Pocos. Basically you make less ISK but make about half the trips.

Less trips is a huge advantage in losec or NPC nullsec but not so much in bluesec or highsec.

Glad you said something.

I was thinking of making "something" that would allow me to contribute to building Citadels.

Im used to gathering materials for making POS fuel (haven't actually made the fuel yet - too easy to just buy it). Never really had a problem with hauling yet (mechanical parts, oxygen, coolant, consumer electronics, etc.).

Lets give a concrete example selling to current buy orders at Jita (EVE Central prices):

Example 1) Barren Planet - Smartfab Units (Batch of 3)
Current buy for P3 Smartfab Units at Jita = 66500 ISK
Total return selling 3 x P3 Smartfab Units to buy orders = 199,500 ISK

A batch of 3x P3 Smartfab Units need:
10 P2 Construction Blocks (8701 buy at Jita = 87,010)
10 P2 Miniature Electronics (11,200 buy at Jita = 112,000)

Hence total return selling the P2 to buy orders = 199,010 ISK
Total return making 20 P2 Miniature Electronics instead = 224,000 ISK

Result = 24,500 loss on Smartfab Units compared to just making Miniature Electronics

Example 2) Ocean Planet - Vaccines (Batch of 3)
Current buy for P3 Vaccines at Jita = 54905 ISK
Total return selling 3 x P3 Vaccines to buy orders = 164751 ISK

A batch of 3 x P3 Vaccines need:
10 P2 Livestock (6900 buy at Jita = 69000)
10 P2 Viral Agent. (7908 buy at Jita = 79080)

Total return selling the P2 to buy orders at Jita = 148080 ISK
Total return making 20 P2 Viral Agent. instead = 158160 ISk

Result = 6591 profit which will probably mean break even after taking into account the cost of re-configuring your planet and the more favorable base tax of P2

NOTES:
- Single planet. Multiple planet P3 will have extra upload and download taxes

- Tax differences between uploading P2 and uploading P3 not calculated. However base rate on P2 x 20 is 144,200 times POCO tax rate whereas P3 x 3 is 180,000 times POCO tax rates so regardless of what the POCO tax rate is set to the P2 will have less tax increasing P2 profit further.

- there will always be some unusual cases where P3 does pay better than just selling the P2
