Lowest numbers ive seen...

Last night I logged in and only 12.4k people were online, officially eve is dying. I'll be here to the end, you've had a great run. Cry

Edit: ccp can spin numbers and fancy charts all they want, you came blame it on seasonal changes if you like or hell even Fallout 4 as the cause but the truth is numbers are way down and aren't rising and eve is in decline. Skins, skill point trading, and other aurum products all show ccp needs money due to the decline in subscriptions.

supposedly there were some 3rd party connection issues the other night. although over all you have to look at the trend, which overall may not be super great, but there is also a bunch of hype for things coming soon™

Eves going Free To Play dude.
Someobe did a great analysis of it a while back in the Rapid Decreasing Players thread.

Why buy expensive new giant servers for a 13yr old game when there ia no reason to expect any more mass influxes of players? We dont currently use ANYWHERE NEAR capacity with terrible low player countd.

FREE TO PLAY boom player count through the roof.

SkillPoint trading.

BOOM PAY SUB=TRAIN SP
FREE TO PLAY NO SP GAIN but you can buy SP for isk

There are other obvious factors and analysis in thar tread.


Its logical and makes sense if you think about it.

Cant see plex going way up after F2P announcement can you?

I've logged into the game and been one of only 12 people playing. That's 12, not 12k.

Pulling up a PCU snapshot is not a good proof that a game is dying.

Correct. There was a major service outtake in London yesterday. A lot of players couldn't even log in, and many had very unstable connection to the Eve serves.

hmm if only there was some sort of explination why there might been a weeks worth of low numbers.. maybe a popular game just came out... one that was a long awaited sequal... now that can;t possibly be the case...

but yes base don eve offline it looks like 4k people got dumped. most likly they just stayed off as DT was nearby

There were connection issues. the server population was at about 16,700, then suddenly it dropped to around 12k, and then bounced back and forth for a while.

My friend Erica crashed the server to get rid of a gate camp that was annoying her. She was trying to run a heap of Citadel mats through NPC null and they were in her road.

Well, I for one hope eve will never go F2P ... just imagine the horrors of F2P users!! Think of the children!!!!

IF it goes there I will probably stop playing EVE (i might try it at first, see whats what but then probably stop. I've had enough with F2P community for 2 lifetimes)

Sorry but all these years paying for a sub .... and then it all goes down the drain ... No!
