Can I cloak a Skiff?
What fitting if it is possible?

Prototype Cloaking Device works on all ships. High slot.

BUT: Prototype Cloaking Device does not allow warp while cloaked. So you warp and arrive to mining belt visible, then can cloak and become invisible. If you get close to anything (asteroids, other people, containers, drones), you will be de-cloaked. You cannot activate any modules (mining lasers, shields, afterburner, nothing works) when cloaked.

You can fit either a Prototype of Improved cloak on a Skiff but I'm not sure why you would want to. The Skiff has 1 high slot so you can't fit both a cloak and a strip miner. The Skiff has very limited power grid so there is no way you can fit a MWD to use the MWD Cloak procedure for travel. All in all - if you want a cloaky miner use the Prospect.

Yep you pretty much would have to carry a mobile depot to swap between the cloak and a strip miner or mine with just mining drones which would be pretty silly in a skiff.

It's pointless.

You'd have to stay visible to do mining or to travel, and if you plan to cloak up when the enemies appear, you can't:

- you can't cloak if they target you
- even if you cloak, they'll know where you are and just come close and de-cloak you
- it's better to warp away than to cloak, if you want to escape a situation

You can, but that would render it quite useless for mining as it only has 1 high slot. If used for baiting, well, why would you use a cloak then? Also you cant cloak if someone has you targeted. Also when you come out of cloak, you cant target anything for a specific time depending on your skill and cloak module used.

So all in all, not worth the trouble.

Why would you want to MWD/ Cloak the Skiff?

As another poster pointed, you can't protect your ship while mining, or when someone arrives in the belt.
Most of all, if they arrive in the belt cloaked, and uncloak to shoot you, you may not have the reaction time to cloak.


So, if you need it to jump gates with MWD/ Cloak, then ok, but is it going to work?
I even got killed with a BR cloaking from gates, so the Skiff has even less chance , maybe even with high or top skills.


It is technically feasible, I would like to see how you can counter the competition with it though.

This is a Prospect ship yes, but you cannot fit strip miners on it or mine Ice with it.
It does jump covert though, and works with a Black Ops for jumping, and by passing gates security.
