Ships for 5/10 DED sites

I'm wondering what ships in general [solo] could take on a 5/10 DED without that much problems.
Sure, good skills come to use, i'm just curious. From what i have seen, the Stratios can work them allright aswell as the Tengu - wich im training for now, but i'm wondering if something like a Gila could run a 5/10 DED without problems if done correctly. I have heard the Ishtar is pretty good aswell.

I have been looking on the internet but i can't really find something "sticky" that fits to certain/general situations.
What do you think? or know?

gila works fine, did an angel 5/10 last night in one, I think you can use any ship including marauders in all the sites except the Sansha 5/10 it doesnt allow marauders. personally i love the skinny tanked arty macha in them.

It's fairly simple, you fit a bunch of tank on a ship, preferably a HAC with the right resist profile for that area of space (to minimise slots used for tanking, therefore more DPS), some decent range (sentries). Then you speed tank the bejezus out of it while shooting everything, and don't get webbed or neuted.

I personally solo 5-6/10s in amarr/gallente space fairly regularly, using either a muninn or an ishtar. But I am also told that the deimos works, the cerberus works, etc. etc. and I've also toyed with using a Loki for the Amarr region sites. A buddy of mine has used a VNI for the same.

So, long story short: the Gila can do it, the Tengu is OP for it, the stratios can only fly 4 sentries and is therefore actually slightly *worse* for it than the alternatives....

I have been flying DED 5 sites in both Gila and HAM Cerberus in a buffer shield fit. They both work fine, most important thing IMO is that you have the range to take out the stasis towers in the 2nd room (40 ish KM) with the Cerb u will need to use javelin HAM to make that range, with the Gila u can just send drones to take them out.

You cant reasonably do the 5/10 Blood Raider in a VNI. You won't survive the last room.

Thank you for your answers, really! So, i will use my gila on the next 5/10 i find. Try things out, the only thing im worried about is the third room where there are statis towers. Im worried i'l be under heavy deeps. I'm going to try to bookmark the warp-in to the site and then kill the b0ss, after that warp out and then in again.

So this is what i have on right now, i've sene people also going full on field extenders for the shields on the rigs, but i don't know whats "best" for this ship, to have alot of EHP or to have better passive recharge rate. With my skills in this fit i have 90 hp/s. (Switching shields for specific type of dmg, ofc)

520 Dps on drones, and 131 Dps on missiles.
41 k HP.

I was thinking the exact same thing earlier today - I'm not one who frequents the forums so I didn't see this until after.


I just ran a 5/10 (Angel Red Light District) in a Gila. I did pretty good - Had to warp out once or twice, lost a drone or two but that is just due to my pilot skills (and improper fit)

I have had a lot of friends use strats for DED sites, especially in low sec. I was going to fit one up myself today, but I decided to give the Gila a try first because I'm used to flying it, and it did well. Looking forward to trying one of these fits!
