So I'm visiting Iceland next week and I will be having a look at the monument and wanted to find my name on there, however when I try and go to the site it doesn't appear to be working.

I've tried two

https://www.eve.com/monument/old-name-finder
https://www.eve.com/monument/name-finder

and neither are working, is it still available anywhere or do i need to spend a couple of days looking? :D

This got broken temporarily in our recent web redesign, and the latest I've heard on it is "hopefully early this week" to get it back up. If it's not working by the end of the week, send me an in-game mail and we can make sure you can find your name on the monument when you're out here.

Clearly you've chosen the wrong time to go there. FanFest isn't until April!

He probably can't hold his liquor. And I don't think Iceland knows what liqueur is.

I really would like to go. But it seems like it is just a big drunk and I can do that at home. I hope I'm wrong and there is actually some fun sober things to do there, but going to Fan Fest just to drink seems like a waste of money. Worst of all, I'm a sleepy drinker...2 beer and I want to sleeeeepppp....

You can do FanFest sober. I have the past times. FanFest is for everyone, sober or drunk, day or night, geek or not.

Some like to get shitfaced, that's cool, some don't want a single drop, that's cool (altho speaking to the shitfaced ones can be hilarious when sober haha).

I'm gone after two beers, that's why I don't drink any more (plus the fact that two beers gives me massive head ache so it ain't worth it). But I've had plenty fun hanging out with everyone and not even gotten any reaction choosing a soda or water over the other stuff (but if you did/do get comments for soda/water, clearly you're with the wrong crowd).

Chribba, you should avoid lager and just go for pilsner if that's the case with beer, but hey everyone has their preference. Now if you started to sip on sweet coolers like a girl then that would be questioning.

- Professional alcholic.

Oh, Iceland has some really epic sights to check out but I can't link them atm. There's some crystal caves that look super interesting, and if I was able I would book a tour for that. No other place like that in the world. Have a good trip OP.

If you want to find the monument, just get to Reykjavik and ask a polar bear.
There's one on every corner, and they'll direct you.

As an aside, since the addicts had to stumble into one thinking they're walking perfectly straight;
I neither drink nor brook drunks.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

The main purpose of Fanfest is to run multiple days of sessions for players, both presentation format and interactive round-tables, so you can learn an enormous amount about how we make the game, hear our future plans for it, and offer your own feedback to the developers directly.

Also, if you come a day or so early, you can, for example, join our Fanfest Golden Circle Tour, which is an easy half-day or so opportunity to see the waterfall Gullfoss, the active geysers at Geysir, and the national park at Þingvellir. And, if you can swing a longer trip, you can spend a few days traveling outside Reykjavik to see all kinds of amazing geography. Here's a photo album from a trip I took with friends and family in September.

So, even if Reykjavik's nightlife doesn't appeal to you, I promise there's plenty of value in taking a trip to Iceland for Fanfest.

The natives will, or you're dead.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.
