Why did I randomly warp to a wormhole and got killed?

I warped to my regular station but ended up at a wormhole and got shot to pieces by "Artemis Tyrannos" the NPC. How is that possible? All highsec btw.

Maybe you accidentally warped to an Unidentified Wormhole? They appear on the overview and sometimes have Drifters guarding them.

While I'm sorry the OP suffered a loss, i always find it amusing to see someone knee-jerk straight into "the game did it" and segway straight over to "and it's killing the game".

I once 'fat fingered' my ratting Archon from a POS to a gate instead of the station I wanted to dock at (this was before capitals could jump gates, thank God) and got tackled by a neutral who happened to be trying to catch up to a gang that had just left. I started hollering on comms and some buddies came and helped me scrape him off in time for me to warp...just as that neutral gang was coming back to kill me. Like the OP, i could have sworn i clicked on the station but i actually went back and looked at my log and saw what I did.

Modification of old rule: Don't fly what you can't afford to Whelp in fat finger fashion.

In high security, there are hazards that do need to be avoided, as you encountered. There are sites that can kill even prepared veterans. You start in eve, not a new player section of a game. High sec is safer, not safe.

I so want to see some of this evolution I keep hearing about. If you look at how large our heads are, you'd think there's some sort of BRAIN inside that skull. I understand it's iffy till we actually split one open and look, but that's sort of FATAL. SO...all we have to go on is the TEXT you see in places like THIS.

Yeah CCP, fix this bug.

I mean, I probed my probes into a wormhole with my venture to extract gas on a C5, but then I explode, I didn't want to but some red on decided to.

CCPlease fix this.

I recall an old "bug" that had you warp to or appear at a gate if you went through a wormhole right at the moment of collapse. Only heard of it once and never knew if it was a real bug.
