It's vivid and clear to use the ingame comparison tool.

Navy ships tend to be enhanced versions, though sometimes with very different roles (e.g. Scorpion vs. Navy Scorpion).

Pirate faction ships are supposed to be "rule breakers", and typically have bonuses or abilities not available anywhere else.

The easiest way to look at the values yourself is in EFT/PyFA as there are normally a number of differences between the standard and navy/fleet/pirate versions of ships.

You can pull the stats up easily and look at them alongside each other (in game compare only allows you to do up to 10 fields at a time).

Navy ships are really good (mostly) and often perform a totally different role than their none-navy counterpart.

navy ships usually get slightly better stats (like cap, speed, sensor strength, and/or scan res, 50% more hp than t1 variants, and also typically they get an extra slot, or a bigger bonus.

The Vexor Navy Issue, also mostly called VNI, is equivalent to the Vexor, but being much more focused in Drones, thus having his Bonuses adjusted, this affects the cruiser per level bonus, drone bay and bandwith and such.

This info can usally be found in description, or on EVE uni for a faster awnser Big smile

Yeah the 6 medium slots with more rooms for omnis plus the ability to deploy 5 sentry/heavy drones or 2 Gecko at once make the VNI a pretty good drone platform.

The 6 medium slots and 1650 shields also make the NI a good candidate for shield tanking.

Good rule of thumb, if you don't know the reason to buy a navy ship over the t1 you aren't ready to buy it yet. EFT will answer all your questions and more.

The wonders of the info panel....wooOOOOooOOOOOOoooo!

First, drone capacity:
Vexor - 125 m3
VNI - 200 m3
VNI holds more drones, pretty good since both are drone boats, no?

Second,
Drone Bandwidth:
Vexor - 75 mb/sec
VNI - 125 mb/sec
VNI? More bandwidth...drone boat....Sentry drones use 25mb/sec per drone, so a Vexor lets you use only three, while the VNI can operate the full compliment of five, for example.

3rd, VNI? -012 intertia modifier...more agile....

4th, et al, VNI has 1,000 more armor hitpoints, 550 more shield hitpoints, 50 more gj cap capacity, 7.5 s faster cap recharge time, two more locked targets, 10 less signature radius, 5mm better scan resolution...4 more points in sensor strength....than the Vexor.

I love info panels.

And, if that don't float your boat, VNI; 5% max velocity and tracking speed for drones per cruiser level trained*; with 10% more hitpoints AND damage per level trained...mining yield too...though I wouldn't mine in mine. Heh heh heh.

Whereas, Vexor? 5% Medium Hybrid Turret damage (per cruiser level trained) with the same boost to drone hitpoints/damage/mining yield.

OH! But...THAT'S NOT ALL!!

One more low slot for that all important drone damage amplifier - or two.

Ooo la la!

Since it's a drone boat, my choice was the VNI until I got my Ishtar. You see, I do drones. Big smile

And, yes. You do get what you pay for.

*Your drones get to targets much faster, and are more accurate, so more DPS than in a Vexor.
Though stated above the VNI gets six medium slots, it only has four. It has six low slots.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

Yeah my bad. Having a remedial moment and confusing it with the Gila which I tend to fly a lot lately. VNI is 4 mids and 6 lows as people have pointed out.
