system linking showing total jumps remaining?

Hey guys.

I had an idea when i was in a fleet some time ago.
We all link systems in a fleet, corperation or alliance chat, everytime a system gets linked right now, i have to right click it and set destination to see how far i currently am from said system.

Would it be possible to see a system in place for a feature release, that shows you the amount of jump you are away from said system, with your current travel settings, when you hover over the systems name?

This would make more easy for people to see how far they are away.

this helps fleet commanders, this helps mission runners, this helps everyone.

Let me know what you all think.

Thought is dangerous; lack of thought, deadly!

Still involves 2 un needed actions over the hovering over idea.

So? The two extra actions is better than the constant stream of server calls every time anyone in every channel takes their mouse cursor over a linked system name. At least the current method only makes the server calls when someone actually wants that information.

Well, it can be cached locally. Flagged as stale on session change and only recomputed once.

Rather than increase server load or add more client bloat, you could just use the already existing in game tools or one of several third party mapping solutions. Last I checked, dotlan even worked using the IGB, so you wouldn't even need to alt-tab.
