I find that the best way to stay connected to the things outside the Pod is to get involved in it. Put in some labour, shed some sweat, bruise the flesh, get the fingernails chipped, the skin callused. Helps oneself to feel as a person rather than a component of a starship.

Agreed. I'm not a skilled mechanic like you, but on shore leave back home, there is nothing more satisfying to the spirit than helping dig a well, or ploughing a furrow and growing something, or helping in the making of bread and cheese. A loaf of bread made by one's own hands is something primeval and sacred, I find.

My family has an isolated estate that I often retreat to when I need to find peace. I hunt, I hike, and I write while sequestered away from the constant hum of capsuleer life.

I also have a handful of terrestrial vehicles that I take to a small race track on the weekends. Nothing serious, just a bit of spirited driving for fun.

No, I'm not that kind of doctor.

Regular farming or stereotypically-evil farming?

Oh, are you a professional in farming then, little gallentean lapdog?

Son of a-..... Did this really require you to make a remark? For the love of all things, please refrain from petty outbursts like this. It's quite disappointing to see one who claims such a high rank acting no better then a school child.

Oh, so you aren't noticing when he outright lies about me, and when I give a remark, you write like this?
Fine.
You have been noted as a gallentean propaganda supporter, and will be dealt with like an enemy, not a honorable Caldari.

Damn. I guess hoping this would work was too optimistic.

I am not much for pleasantries.

On my free time I tend to work on my tauntings, but it is difficult to reinvent insults without resorting to expletives. A masterful slayer should always provoke her marks.

My latest jab at Gallentean promiscuity involves calling the target "horny bullfrog". A truly civilized insult. Yes... Quite.

Well, what to say. A great listener.

Have sat by so many now, including those in their last hours, where you can see their life literally draining away.

Once a soul has accepted the inevitability of their fate, and no longer blames or hold out to ideals, they will share with you the truths of their life journey. It is a beautiful time, and whilst I am there but to listen, it is an honour to share this special time with them.

I also get quite emotional about the work I do and feel great pride in it's effect on lives and how others see the world. I really feel at times I make a difference not just by extracting a precious resource and moving it but by really BEING there - really mindful of the moments. You can find beauty in even the smallest of things really.

Maker damnit. My expectations of a Caldari officer are higher than that of a Gallente. Are you accusing me of being a traitor for holding you to higher standards than a Gallentean? If so I will end this conversation now and let you wallow at their level.

Ma'am, tell me, honestly, did you expect anything else after you have intervened into quarrel between State and Federation pilots on Gallente side?..

I never sided with anyone. I called you to behave in a manner becoming of a Caldari officer, and nothing more. Thus far, you have not upheld the dignity of your uniform and instead chose to engage in a rather embarrassing and childish debate with, of all things, a Gallente citizen. I'm asking you now, as I did before, please disengage in this pointless and honorless argument.

Not with "Gallente citizen" but with Federal pilot, with Enemy of the State, who was constantly lying about Caldari officer.
And it wasn't argument, since neither of the crap that Ermund Egivand was posting contained any arguments.
