I would like to suggest a new communication platform for controversial topics like the whole SP thingy. A Devblog is not optimal because it gives the whole thing a very "we are going to…" flavour. FAID might not be the best place either, but at least it would have stressed the discussion aspect. The forums in general, as they are right now, don’t handle such discussion very well. A thread with 180 pages is just useless. I would love to see a dedicated discussion section with integrated polls, factions, faction sub forums and a structure for the discussion of different implications, aspects, and issues. At the rate CCP kicks of **** storms at the moment this might be a good investment.

If you look, you'll find a sticky topic on page 1 of F&I on the topic. Voila, instant communication platform for discussing controversial topics, provided people posting bother to look at them before creating redundant threads.

Funny that you mention it because CCP didn’t bother with that one. Besides, my point is not the current discussion about SP buying because I realy couldn’t bother less. My point is that a discussion on 180++ pages in a forum thread is dumb. It’s a pain to follow and to extract anything substantial. Not without reason CCP Fozzie twittered a link to reddit post from sortdragon and elise to get a simple poll on that.

That thread is nothing more than a place for CCP to lock the topic and ignore it, while also locking the topic from having new threads created having anything to do with SP, implants, or attributes.

Regardless how you feel on any of those topics, CCP avoided the forum rage on their current SP selling program they announced through Dev blog.

Honestly, it is the worst thing I have ever seen, and that's saying a lot.

Reddit was the place to have a heated discussion and get dev response sometimes for quite a while already. Not sure if that's something like what you are looking for.

Yes, that I agree with you on.

I really hate that reddit is the place to go to have a discussion on the game, while the actual forums for the game are ignored.

Not to mention, I despise the structure of reddit.

There are times I try to post about a topic that hasn't really been dug into very well, and others point out times in the past that similar topics have been brought up, sometimes in a rather insulting fashion as they mention posts at a far lower level of refinement than my own. I'd like a place where I can bring up old topics and explain why didn't work before, and how it can now.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."
