Maybe CCP could try something like allowing older players to sell some of their skill points to newer players.

Mr Epeen Cool

I assume you're joking, but if PO continues to dwindle then CCP may get desperate and try something as stupid as this. At that time I'll begin unsubbing all my accounts because the game will then be garbage.

Can I have your stuff ?

This

I'm at total loss for words. I mean I really can't believe it. I thought Mr. Epeen was just trolling, but to my dumbfounded shock, he was actually serious. And like I thought, Eve is starting to lose it's REALNESS appeal for me. If this stupid crap sticks, then I may end up biomassing all my chars on all my accounts within the next 3 months when my subs run out. With this stupidity, the Hour Glass on Eve has been flipped and Eve's time is officially starting to die out now.

I honestly don't think there is much CCP can do at this point. EVE was always a niche game, but look at the MMO market now compared to when EVE began. It's even more niche than ever. Gamers are less receptive to the idea of long-term investment for their rewards.

Unless something drastic occurs I believe it's going to be a case of downsizing and milking the players whilst they can from hereon in.

Biomassing to free a char slot.

I am not sure if you notice the same it is looking that we lost half of players playing the best game ever. My few colleague left game lately as it began to be to expensive for them to play.

Challenge I see is PLEX price few years ago it was 200M now is 1.2B but ships, weapon etc. price did not become few hundreds % more expensive. Additional PLEX/GTC for real money is twice more expensive compering to different MMO/Online games. We have now situation that players playing a lot and when do not have very good corporation just bleed trying to gather money for 1 PLEX . From second side people that are buying PLEX in real life become billionaires and can manipulate market what basically is killing this game.

We have got exactly the same situation few years ago in real life in Saudi Arabia where basically food product were so expensive that people started to starve. Then the Sheikh fix praises for same product and it is working for very long time.

I have Idea to set max price for PLEX at 500M ISK ( at Market and in Contracts) and when someone would like to sell his PLEX will go a little below this price to make his offer interested.

If you have different idea please post them here - I truly do not want this game to die. If we do not do anything next year PLEX price will be 2B and game will die.

This game started its slide down the hill the moment they introduced PLEX. It didn't take long before people realized they could buy game time for a few bucks, sell the PLEX on the market, and replenish their ship hangar. Aside from the skill queue, having the isk to buy a new battleship was something to work towards in game. I remember getting an officer drop in 0.0 with a corpmate....holy **** were we excited for the windfall. I lived off that income for years. Now, if I want to buy some stuff....buy some game time, sell the PLEX, and bingo...I've got a bunch of throwaway frigates and dessies.

OK then when I buy PLEX from Markee Dragon I can sell them on the market for 500M or station trade them privately to someone for 1.1B

Obvious end result: zero plex on the market.

Real-life PLEX prices did not change, and the in-game ones didn't change because of CCP, but because of inflation - you see, you THINK that 1.2 billion ISK is a sh*tload of money, but what's really happening is ISK is losing it's value and slowly becoming worthless. This is because everybody nowadays is buying ISK to control the market.
However, you'd think that since PLEX is in abundance, the price should go down. No, PLEX has an insanely high demand on the market and the prices will continue going up.
I know a guy who bought 10 PLEX when they were 200 million and now he's swimming in ISK - however, I don't recommend investing in PLEX as it is a risky business and the prices can crash anytime now.

Oh, and CCP can't do anything about the prices - EVE's market is a capitalistic one, and the "state" (CCP) cannot intervene.

If EVE would be the one and only thing in the hole world you could get for your 15€ I would agree. I baked a game for 65€ which became crap so I got less fun/h for my money. I paid 15€ for another one once and played it over 400 hours ... so I got many fun/h from that one. I paid for a F2P game (I did not have to but as you said you might pay for your hobby) and got many hundrets of hour for well a few hundrets of €. So might be not the most efficient but I could login anytime to this accounts and could pick up if I feel I have to. I just paid as long as I used it and I may come back without coins. So it's not just the question if I have the money for my hobby but if I would pay money for that game. Why should I pay for EVE? If I login every day and play it many hours it would be worth it for sure. If I login just once a week or even less then it's pretty much pay for SP and that 2% more damage for 10€ could be pretty expensive in that case especially if you don't use it soon anyway.

Like a week ago some glowy dude wearing nothing but a sheet surrounded by vape smoke or clouds and told me there would be a great flood. That I should build a Tayra and load it with 2 of every commodity and the provisions to last for 40 days.

Looks like dude was right cuz man some of these kids are crying up biblical floods.

There's a huge disconnect between the thread title and the content of the OP. The latter is just another whine about PLEx prices, and the answer to the former is: kill them. Kill them all (in-game).
