My name is Feyd Rautha Harkonnen. You may have enjoyed my good-hearted antics in the Dune series, the EvE mercenary war of 2014, or dix-hammering the final nail in the Brave Newbie coffin this year...but I digress, this isn't about me, its about change. Hope, and change.

Today the use of cloaks is a rather boolean experience. Once someone is cloaked and either off grid or at range on a grid, interactive gameplay reaches a zero state condition. The cloaked person is safe, and there really isn't more to be said or done.

One specific example of cloaks as a core part of gameplay might be the very compelling BLOPS mechanic, or "Black Ops" hot-drops. This is where a scout locates and pins down a target, and lights a covops cyno for the BLOPS gang to then jump to and join in embracing the target with warm hugs and other forms of affection.

However, once the BLOPS ships are cloaked off grid (or at far range) from the victim, the boolean zero condition kicks in again; play stops because the attacker is safe from reprisal, and all a defender or rescue gang arriving on scene can do is pick over the remains of the victims hull, like a pair of discarded panties at the side of a road.

Well friends, what if I told you it didn't have to be this way, and gameplay interchanges between cloaked person and his opponents could continue, in compelling ways for both parties -- opening up an entire new avenue for EvE gameplay that isn't limited just to BLOPS as an added bonus.

Let me introduce the sisters subspace 'sonar' probe and mid-slot module.

A good half if not more of your OP is a story of how blops work and how cloak interact with retribution in combat. After this, you vaguely mention the idea of a sonar like probe without any details of how it would work and then direct us to your failblog. How am I supposed to discuss your idea with only that if you didn't even mention how you envision it to work/be used?

I'm not gaming ISDs, I'm pointing out that your post lack actual content related to your idea instead of mentioning who you are (like we are supposed to give a ****) and that story about cloak/blops interaction over the boolean nature of cloaks.

Yes you are, and you don't want to discuss anything. You wen't off on self righteous BS, wasting both our time, rather than even clicking simple IMAGE links, blog notwithstanding. How about you explain your idea instead of trying to get me to click on links to a blog site? Then I can debate the value of what you explained instead of just pointing out again how little content you actually posted in this thread.

What does your sonar probes do?

Work like normal probes or a different scannign method?

Do they only work VS cloaked ships?

Do they befit from standard scanning module/skills/ship bonus?

Normal launcher or expanded?

Limitation added to them?

Is the scanning based on sig, physical size or something else?

How fast can I find a cloaked ship if it's trying to log-off after cloaking while burning an agression timer?

Where the hell is that info in the thread?

EDIT: I really don't care about bumping your idea so I really fail to see where your "REKT" attempt is supposed to be. I want the info here so I can try to debate the value of your idea.
