Having left the game previously due to the sovereign-ization and taxation of Customs Offices, which where originally rolled out as free to players to give us a chance to compete with those privileged few who controlled moons and were and still are the isk gods of the game, then the reduction in capital jump distances that screwed all small groups and individuals trying to compete on the 0.0 stage, forcing them into mega alliances that had jump bridge systems, or give up trying to compete.

Now we see large 0.0 alliances working with other empire side alliances to destroy Customs Offices and put up their own before Citadel's are introduced, because once Citadel's are, it is seen as impossible for all but the largest groups in empire to be able to take on the structures themselves, not including the defenders; and on top of this, 0.0 mega alliances are forcing empire based corps to either pay rental fees on towers in empire space the 0.0 alliance claims, or have them all shot down.

The result of these changes have been to lock players out of PI, then lock them out of 0.0, and now lock them out of empire PI completely, and POS Industry / R&D - unless they join mega alliances or pay them for the crumbs of the worst space left available, while much of good space goes unused and undeveloped.

CCP, you're going to have an even harder sell of this game, as word continues to go around that this game is new player friendly, and active players each evening continue to dwindle.

Empire space is going to have to remove the war declaration function of the game all together, otherwise, empire space based players are going to be locked out of anything meaningful except mining, and that is already riddled with suicide attacking of mining barges, that has never been stopped.

Oh wow.

Now I see why the boxes of tinfoil include the "not for human consumption" warning.

RvB has reasonable rate (5%). Same cost as an NPC-owned InterBus POCO (which don't exist anymore) with Customs Code Expertise 5 trained: 5% RvB + 10% NPC * (1 - Customs Code Expertise 5 * 10%) = 10%

Good cause too.

Same rate applies to the Goonswarm POCOs (held by RvBee)

To the OP is sounds like you are complaining that this game is not solo friendly. This is an MMO game that is heavily PvP based. The devs have repeatedly stated that they promote group efforts over solo efforts.

So you can cry and whine that this game is not solo friendly or you can go play one of the many games that are. This is Eve and if you can pick and choose who you group up with but this is an MMO which means it's massively multiplayer. There are plenty of opportunities for small and medium sized corp / alliances. Wormholes are only one example.

If you'd like to see a small group going up against the big guys and laying the smack down then watch anything from Rooks and Kings.

More importantly the New Character Q&A is not the place to cry about complex game mechanics.

As a note to the forum gods maybe we should have a section of the forum called the klenex box where players can post their tears.

Hisec must be crushed under the jackboot heel of HTFU, and dirt encrusted carebear peasantry cattle-prodded into getting into the real game that is outside of empire space.

The time for tears is over, as warm agression-nerf balms to carebear tears have not yielded vast increases in player subs as promised or envisioned, and they never will.

With the rise of newbro friendly groups like Pandemic Horde, Brave Newbies, Karma fleet et al -- there is now no more tolerance for fuccbois wallowing endlessly in the mud of hisec, nor endlessly mewling for further nerfs, while sitting inside the pve hamster wheel

I have nothing further to say on this matter.

... mmm... that is a pickle. Perhaps you should ally yourself with other like-minded people and... oh, I don't know... PUSH THEM BACK?!?

You don't have to fight on their level. Just do what most low-sec groups have learned to do; use skirmish tactics and frustrate them to the point where they don't want to bother with your neck of the woods.

The idea of the game is "player conflict."
If you desire or want to protect something, you have to fight for it in some way. Whether it is through diplomacy, trade, money, or straight up warfare.

Also... any mechanic that you introduce to make life easier for solo and small player groups will be to the ENORMOUS advantage of larger player groups.

No warfare or combat in high-sec virtually guarantees that large groups can monopolize resources, markets, and money (because there is no way to challenge or harrass them). In addition, they will have an unlimited and completely safe economic backbone for conducting endless warfare throughout the rest of the game (which small groups can't match because they don't have the manpower).

Trust me when I say this... the thing that will help small and solo people more than anyhing is a loosening of combat restrictions and timers. More restrictions just allows for more consolidation.
