Actually, at fanfest they stated this, but when asked it will be limited functionality. Basically outbound functionality (location in space, current ship, character name, etc) will all be fed though CREST, but inbound functions (join channel, show fittings, popup corp/market info, etc) won't be able to be covered. There will definitely be feature losses when it goes.
Actually I have saved fittings working via CREST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBQaq6iUTQU

:)
Yeah that's nto what I meant.
I mean like how on this page you can go down to a fitting in the IGB, click the "EVE" button and that fitting pops up in the client. I was (and still am) under the impression that firing off commands through crest to hit the clients UI like that was not going to happen.

It can and will. I also have it working so that you can set your auto pilot waypoints from CREST.

Adding to saved fits via CREST is nice buuuuut opening a fit in a window which we may choose to save, buy, fit or just glance at is honestly much more desirable.

In that case that will be very interesting to see. I hope there's a heck of a lot of security options around it though. I don't want to log into a website via crest then find fitting spam all over my screen or see autopiloters diverted into camps because they signed up for a 3rd party service through CREST.

Good thing I have a bunker to hide in? It is happening so a better plan is to clearly communicate what features are most used. Although we do track what features are being used so we already have a good idea of what needs to be replaced feature wise before we remove the IGB.

IGB is practical because you can read about EVE lore or chronicles and play the game at the same time while mining.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but is crest two-way interaction now?

Seems to be on some level. Yes it surprised me as well but our Dev Friend whos hanging out with us actually linked a video where she could make changes in a third party program that would effect her account on the client. Such as ship fits.

There really is only one down side to crest.

Im going to have to learn how the back end works so I can upgrade a few sites I have IGB scripting in :P

Why would you not want that? I totally want that.

Can you imagine that mayhem?

In a way, perhaps this might be an impetus for CCP to develop a more integrated way of bring that lore into the game. Heck, I'd even settle for a 'related articles' tab when showing info on factions/npc corps/systems etc.

I for one welcome our new CREST overlords.

YAY MAYHEM just think of all the new gank methods. I could create a totally legit Anti gank website with suggested routes (changed on a daily basis) each one camped by my friends ! Twisted

I completely agree with you in every way. Since the Dev came in im not so awwww IGB don't go as I was.

But still I would like urls to auto link but instead of opening in an IGB open in your default browser. Its not like i have a shortage of monitors :P

replace the IGB with an ingame picture viewer and nobody would even notice ;)

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value
