It was just a thought that I had and was wondering if anyone else thought it was good.

Would it be too much to have a Med Slot or even Low slot Ore Compressor that we can fit to an Orca? Make it have a cycle time and an amount of ore per cycle it can compress.

It would be nice to be able to park the Orca in a belt and leave it there till the belt is gone.

Again, its just a thought and I don't think in any way that's OP it would just be a nice Item to strap to my Orca.

Let me know what you guys think!

nope

you want a ship that does it leave highsec and you have rorq, dont want to leave highsec, use a compression array in a POS

Yes but you cant move a POS from system to system or have a POS in every system. It would also be a damn good item for solo players runnin 2 or 3 accounts...

Rorqual is just left from old days, used to be only way to compress ore/ice but that was given to POS.
Compression as a module is basicly what the Rorqual already use, why not change it to a module Orca can use whenever Rorqual get its rebalance?

I'm sure you're thinking that compression would let you harvest more ore and make more ISK/hour. Problem is, it would let everyone harvest more ore and the price would adjust to reflect the oversupply - consider the current price of oil as a real world example. You'll probably end up making less income.

You can always copy the larger multi-boxing ice mining fleets and take a freighter, you'll need to calculate the point where bringing a freighter produces more income than bringing another barge.

This already happens, compressing just makes it easier for smaller scale mining ops (limited m3 to compress)
A freighter that unload either at a POS (compression) or station can move alot of mined ore :P

look at it another way, the more ore you hold (compressed especially) the more value your orca is and the more likely you will get ganked due to increased value, and unless you are mining with orca and 1-2 miners your orca is unlikely to keep up with the compression anyway.

Just dump it in a station and move it when safe in a freighter to a compression POS. im not a miner anymore but even if I was id still be against this, if it were to happen then it defeats the point of the arrays that were only added recently, this would just cater to the lazy.
