Forums are understood in the modern sense as internet message boards, but the older designation is way more interesting, and it's how the earlier EvE-o forums looked before it branched off into player run sites/blogs/news services (CAOD esp). Collectively they still fall under the idea, but it's hard to tell if the participants understand it/participate thematically anymore.

Debate is fine, and banter, and propaganda is always fun. But the best stuff (imo) might be classed as rhetorical/dialectic forms of public oration - particularly if it mixes in multiple elements. I get the impression only a handful do this anymore, because only a few appreciate it. Wierdly, the RPers have always embraced it, it's just hidden away in IGS.
