Something similar to the Noctis but much larger with a 200% bonus to Tractor Beam range and velocity.

Rorq is a nice ship but it's not really a salvager.

Why would a capital salvaging platform be needed? What would it provide that the Noctis doesn't already?

I haven't found a salvaging situation that a Noctis couldn't clear in minutes even when having to burn to get the last few wrecks into range.

I'm thinking it would be faster at clearing than the Noctis so greater isk per hour. Plus it provides a clear end goal for those who want to go the salvaging career path.

Fair enough, I don't see much point in it myself and I have serious doubts that a salvaging career path exists now ninja salvaging is pretty much extinct but I could be wrong.

Not to mention I have never found a situation where I could justify using so much as a noctis over a destroyer

I'd rather have the current capitals rebalanced before introducing more ships to the mess.

That's just plain wrong. We used to have a nutty indy guy in corp that would bring a rorq into sleeper escallations. He would keep up with salvageing as fast as we could make wrecks. It was pretty awesome. I miss that dude. (come back Zoo)

It's a great salvager. You don't need a new ship in the game, you just need to train up the rorq. It's got some nifty traits to boot - it pretty much can't be jammed. It can sport capital rr. It's got a fortress of a tank.

"Capital salvager" as in "capital-sized salvager module"? Maybe. Give them a longer range (20-ish km?) and a slightly higher base salvage rate. Slap one of these and a capital tractor beam on a Rorq and you'd have a salvaging beast. I'm not sure how much use it would actually get though.

"Capital salvager" as in "a capital ship that specializes in salvaging"? No. Not just no, but heck no. Aside from the fact that you don't need dedicated specialist ships in every hull size, capital ships in general are due for a rework in the near future, so anything dealing with new capital ships needs to wait.

While we are at it, can we make people suspect again for stealing your stuff?

I want to teach everyone that touching my stuff without my consent is a terrible idea. That will create much more minerals destroyed, more explosions and content.

cannot be used in highsec and must have a, 'capital industrial bastion module (CIBM)".

CIBM = 5 min cycle time, move = zero, defense increased, bonus to tractor beam range and velocity is dependent on being in bastion mode.

Reason it has a 5 min cycle is to ensure its being used where a capital class clean up ship should be used and thats cleaning up after fleet fights, otherwise use the noctis.

Ship skin option, yes only one, must be ugly (maximum time spent developing new skin cannot exceed 3 mins) to keep it in line with the rest of the craptastic industrial ship skin options.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

You still burn to get to wrecks?

I'm old school.

The 5% speed bonus per Ore Industrial level makes the Noctis tractors far faster and the entire process very efficient on the very rare occasions I can be bothered with missions plus you don't leave an MTU hanging around for someone else to scan, loot and blap.
