Hello,

Being a new player to EVE can be a daunting experience, especially when it comes to getting your feet wet with the PVP aspect of the game. That is why Pandemic Horde, a new player focused alliance, have taken up the task of running a bi-weekly New Player PVP Fleet. These fleets will be designed around catering to new players whether they be a day old or just started a week prior. They will be running every other Saturday and will always begin in one of the "Rookie Systems" that a new player starts the game in. It's also worth noting that due to the generosity of the players who run www.EVE-Bet.com, all ships will be free for a fleet member to fly. The fleets are expected to last between 90 minutes to 2 hours.

This fleet is open to all players, regardless of which corporation/alliance they are in. The fleet will be operating under a "Not Purple Shoot It" function (meaning if a ship is not in the fleet and is able to be attacked we will do so).

Following the fleet there will be a Q&A session about Pandemic Horde, and EVE in general.

SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS
All fleets will leave at 2300 UTC (aka EVE Time) which is at 0000 UK or 1800 Eastern US.

Arrow November 7, 2015 - Kisogo

This rotation of starter systems the fleets will leave out of will stay as consistent as possible so as to make it easier for new players to be able to find where and when the fleets will be leaving from.

BEFORE THE ROAM:

1. Set up Mumble in order to join or voice communications:
We use our own private Mumble server, which we will open each week to people to come join and use for the NPSI fleet. We will provide a temporary permissions link once the fleet forms to allow people to access the Mumble. You don't need a working microphone but please make sure that 1) you have a working headset, and 2) you set up the "Push to talk" function.

2. Join the in-game channel: HORDEBROS
Joining this chat channel in-game will make it easier to facilitate inviting people to the fleet once it is created.

3. Set your medical clone to the system the fleet will be leaving out of that week.
This way when/if you get podded, you will wake up in the starting system and we can get you a new ship quickly.

I will also be streaming the fleet on my Twitch channel www.Twitch.tv/Tallardar/ if you are unable to attend or want to see what its like before joining a fleet yourself.

SHIPS & NEEDED SKILLS TRAINED

The focus of the roams will be around teaching the basics of PVP and the best ships to start a new player off with is the ever trusty Frigate. We will begin each fleet with a small tutorial session to help explain the basic concepts and info a player needs to know when it comes to using their ship.

We will travel across various areas of EVE, ranging from the familiar Highsec areas to the more dangerous Lowsec and Nullsec systems.

These fleets will be using a variety of different ships. Below you can find the ship & modules it will be using to ensure you have the correct skills trained to use it.

Ship: Merlin
Micro Auxiliary Power Core I
Damage Control I
Type-D Restrained Nanofiber Structure
Medium F-S9 Regolith Compact Shield Extender
Initiated Harmonic Warp Scrambler I
5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
'Langour' Drive Disruptor I
Light Ion Blaster I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I

The Merlin takes around 21 hours to train as a new player using the fitting provided on this fleet. They're very easy to get into and are a good starter ship for PVP.

For the time being we'll only be focusing on these, but we will later branch out to include other ship types to comprise a fleet.

Apologies to everyone but unforeseen circumstances have prevented me from FCng the fleet this weekend. Catatonic Dawn will be the FC for Saturday's fleet.

Due to the issues we experienced this past weekend, we're going to remain in Bourynes for this weekend and essentially push our schedule rotation back a week.

Unfortunately due to some IRL stuff, and being unable to find someone to replace me, this is going to be on hiatus for the time being.

Thanks to all that swung by and hung out to learn.
