Proteus drone boat?

So i was thinking that given the gal are meant to be a drone orientated race that the T3C should embody that and to some extent it does but you can only get 100BW on it so cant have a full flight of heavy's or sentry.

So given that, id like peoples opinion on this next option. GECKO drones. there 50BW each to use so even with the max 125BW you still cant fly more then 2 so the Proteus 100BW is just spot on for it plus you get the bonuses from the Mods like drone damage, MWD speed and Durability that makes the GECKO's more beastly.

Id very much like the Proteus to be the drone beast it should be so any thoughts on this?

Not very viable imo. To get the 100 bandwidth you need to take the Augmented Capacitor Resservoir and the Drone Synthesis Projector.
The former is beaten by the Capacitor Regeneration Matrix if you want to active tank (as you usually would for PvE and which is viable for PvP)*, leaving you with a buffer fit.
The later has to content with the Dissonic Encoding Platfform due to the fact that this gives enough for a single Gecko, or a flight of mediums, on it's own while also bringing more guns (which can't be that easily removed of grid). On the other hand the Drone Synthesis Projector leaves you two utility highs for - potentially medium neuts - if your capacitor wasn't so god aweful and you'd have to take the Gravitational Capacitor for four mids (Prop+CB+Scram+Web) or forgo the 4th midslot.

Purely PvE wise I guess you could fit 2 Cap Recharger IIs and a third DDA II with a Localized Injector instead of the Gravitational Capacitor but then It's still beaten by the Stratios that can get a cloak ontop of it's scanning, a better capacitor, less rorschach test and sparkly rainbows of friendship and love - er Scorch.


TL;DR version:
Count me in on being sad at the Proteus' Drone aspect.




*mind you it is still possible to active tank with the Augmented Resservoir but not as easy to do so

Best bet is to use the pointrange sub, active tank it with a 500mn mwd/localized injectors. Goes crazy fast, is cap stable while just moving, reps not to poorly and points out to 60ish with RF/links.

Tho it's one of those fits that are fun to fly with links and just not even viable without. (not sure if serious)

Damn i felt like i was onto something there. 2 GECKO. Not having access to the Proteus as a drone boat is just annoying as that normaly what gal are good at.

Still going to work on some fits to try and make it work as you can get like 600+dps out of the 2 GECKO's maybe just buffer tank it and be done with it

Drop DDA for hardeners bling/adjust to taste. Also StratCruisers have jack and S@*^ for structure so DCUs rarely give more bang/buck than a hardener.

Not bad. I feel like the drone boat proteus should be a thing and it is my mission to make it so. Ok so its not the META or the cookiecutter build but god damn it i will have some pride as a Gal pilot!

if you want god mod Gecko take the rattlesnake.

that beast with full drone bonuses and drone mods makes a gecko a murderer of spaceships.
