I use Panda Free Antivirus and whenever I try to run the EFT.EXE is just neutralizes the .exe and won't allow me to use it. Strange. It thinks this is a virus.

your posting in a thread 137 pages long with lot and lots of people using it.

His hosting sites are annoying but there is actually nothing wrong with the file.

To be honest, there was no issues prior last release, with hosting or otherwise.

I figured out how to fix the problem. I can put the EFT folder into Panda antivirus' exclusion list and then I can open it no problem.

Hello everyone,
I'm using this tool after month of playing EVE. Everything was fine but after some of EVE updates something goes wrong.

There is a strange bug with import fits from EFT to EVE in any ways (Copy to clipboard option or Export to XML).
I started to "dig" this issue and i found one solution for XML export and importing it in EVE.

Basically EFT exports fits in XML file is (for example i take Crow fit):

http://screencast.com/t/osihVjlbz

This fit will not Imports to EVE, EVE says that it is wrong XML format or something like that.
The solution comes when i tried to export some fits from EVE in XML format and i recieved this (for example i take Venture fit):

http://screencast.com/t/Mgn2XviNgy

And i noticed that the only one difference in this codes is a * symbol after ship/module name. So i tried to add this * symbol in my XML fit export file from EFT like this:

http://screencast.com/t/hGbIMWcOscX

And this fit correctly imports into EVE.

Then i tried to CTRL+A + CTRL+C this XML text and import it into EVE via Import from clipboard button and i recieved error again.
So, the only one method for import fits from EFT to EVE is XML import with this strange manipulations wih XML files.
This issue exists in version 2.31 and 10 min ago i tried 2.31.1 and confirm that this issue still exist in latest version.

Thank you for your attention and sorry for my not so good english. I hope that export/import features in EFT will be more comfortable.

Importing with the clipboard to eve is much easier than you are thinking!

Up at the top left is the Question with ship info and the name of your ship and fit. Right of that is a ship icon, and next to this there is a little down arrow. Click that and select "Copy to clipboard". This copies the EFT-format fit to the clipboard, which is what the game will accept when you paste from clipboard.

Example:

[Oracle, ion blaster]
Internal Force Field Array I
1600mm Crystalline Carbonide Restrained Plates
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
True Sansha Adaptive Nano Plating
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

50MN Cold-Gas Enduring Microwarpdrive
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I

Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M
Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M
Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M
Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M
Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M
Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M
Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M
Heavy Ion Blaster II, Void M

Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I

Copying the XML to clipboard will not work, and yes there are apparently issues with non-English XML going between EVE and EFT.

Localizer will not edit this code.
He probably contributed to the change.
So your program needs a Fix.
Otherwise, EFT program becomes half irrelevant.

This is an old issue with EVE localization and the way it handles item names. For some reason EVE client expects XML import in the same format it uses for storing localization info internally. It has nothing to do with EFT.

Hello Gripen,

I have noticed recently (this may or may not be a recent change) that the bonus from 'Skirmish Warfare Link - Rapid Deployment' modules takes a stacking penalty when combined with the bonus applied when overheating propulsion modules.

For example, a fully skilled cold-gas MWD with no affecting implants, affected by a fully-skilled T2 rapid deployment link on a bonused command ship with the mind link, will display 821.81% in-game and in EFT. When overheated, EFT predicts it should reach 1232.7%, but the actual in-game value is about 1195.3%, often a difference of over 100 meters per second.

Here's an actual example of an ingame test (this included a zor's hyperlink implant):

Strength of warfare link: 30.1875%
Unmodified MWD velocity bonus: 662.8125%
Overheated without links: 994.21875% (+50.0%)
Cold with links: 862.899023437% (+30.1875% over unlinked)
Overheated with links: 1255.06754311% (+89.3549% over unmodified, 26.2366% over unlinked)

This indicates that the bonus from the warfare link is only being applied at 86.912% effectiveness, which is the exact strength of an effect in the second-rank stacking penalty slot (since the warfare link of around 30% is weaker than the 50% from overheating).

These stacking penalties are already accounted for when computing optimal range for overheated webs and warp scramble modules, and there is no stacking penalty yet for the links that reduce the cycle time of repair modules. It appears that the stacking for propulsion overheating was either overlooked some time ago, or added to the game only recently.

Thanks for your work.

3 different link stats are now subject to stacking penalties. Max velocity, agility, and locking range. This may account for what you are seeing.
