What do you look for in a home

Im curious what others look for in a home system.

I live in low trying to stay to a low traffic system within a jf range to highsec for easy restocks with ice belts and all the station luxurys as i prefer the small scale indy part of eve

im sure a larger corp/alliance would look for a bottleneck system where theyd be able to control the flow and has resources to build

but what is it you look for do you hope for the busy system for a few gate camps, a busy mining system to try and score some boost from other pilots, the system that hasnt had its trades updated in 2 weeks or just wherever you end up through corp moves/personal ventures

Wherever there is plenty of PvP action right at my doorstep. Usually a hot FW system.

Home? well my irl home I found a nice quiet lot and pulled out my hammer and saw. In EVE... I guess I just have various stations I keep fleets of ships, bounce around between them. Most of them are pretty quiet systems, no major hubs, and have at least one mission agent worth doing. Quiet areas, ded sites and belt rats. I use to do a lot of data site hacking back in the day before the mini-game garbage (yum combat hacking ships), though I'd scavenge all areas of the universe, I've found some systems I particularly like, even though hacking is long since dead for me.

I look for whether or not someone is living there or not. I find wormhole space to be very pretty.

A nice system on the edge of the map in Null-Sec where there is not too much movement or threat of roaming players from enemy alliances looking for a fight.

A system where my Corp's home base is with plenty of PvE in-system so I can safely build up my ISK, and plenty of mining opportunities if I want to watch something while playing EVE.

Essentially, the ideal place for a relatively new player starting out in Null-Sec.

I look at how many people are around daily (As I do combat sites).

My HQ is however where I found 2x Level 4 security agents, back when I did them for isk.

I look for a wormhole system with good statics and a nice system effect.

I'm PVE and mining, so I look for semi-out of the way hi sec locations with enough content to keep me occupied. (So the players pushing the idea of all characters being forced out of hi-sec into null are simply saying that they want me to play their way, or leave EVE. It's kind of how certain Warcraft players treat people that don't play their way either.)

I'm a hauler. I don't really have a home, but I do usually go to Amarr if there are no contracts to be found.

I have several 'homes'

First, there's my ratting/indy home in a dead-end system far enough away from the pipe that I get a good heads-up from intel channels before neutrals arrive in system and a nicely upgraded station for manufacturing.

I also have a 'half a home' in a handy system next to my ratting system that has a far better mix of planets to build factories on, so there's a heap of P1s in that station.

Then there's the alliance staging system for fleet form-ups.

Lastly, there's my Highsec home, where I stash valuables I'm not prepared to risk in 0.0 and is a gateway to lowsec where me and my friends like to roam when things in 0.0 are quiet.
