I'm rather fond of the old rust-bucket look. It's like the ships were designed by a committee of minimalists and hipsters, using only the contents of the local junk-yard.

100% sure the hipsters of New Eden are Gallente in origin. Though they probably love T1 Amarr hulls because that's basically the most anachronistic thing there is and you know how hipsters are about that.

So next time you see a Gallente character in an Apocalypse you know exactly what's up.

A key difference is the ability for Amarr to wear hooded cloaks. Everything else is inconsequential, for reals. I've been chewing jealousy grizzle for years now because no one told me in the beginning only Amarr toons got hoods.

TBH since jamyl sarum (the least legitimate ruler in fictional history) it can't really be described as patriarchal. But all the other stuff still applies.

I have always associated the male Amarr character's hood with foreskin. While I don't mind being a dickhead IRL for some reason being one in game seems to put me off a bit.

I guess I speak for all (or at least a majority) of us when I say that we didn't need that mental image.
