Also, will we get docking scenes in the new citadels as we have now in stations/outposts when we are docked? Ship spinning is an important feature!

No docking scene. When you dock, the camera will be centered around the structure instead, so you can now play structure spinning.

So instead they make outside of the station pretty, and i'm just curious. Will we still have an overview to identify ships outside?

The closest thing I can come up with to what i'm talking about is this being your docked scene.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

From the CSM Summit Day 3 minutes:

"Nullarbor - You'll see space, just no brackets or overview, with camera controls. You'll probably be able to select stuff to see individual details, just no overview or tactical information."

Though having exterior camera view will make sense tactically.

They should just give you the hanger + CQ that is in current stations and the new outside cam.

Would make everyone 95% happy

I'm more then a little salty over this if they are going to do this. Seems pretty lazy and half assed to me when they are doing so many awesome things with citadels. If they really want to give you an outside view to avoid camping ect then it could be a different view mode that you can enter, don't use then as an excuse to not have actual docking.

The interiors are bigger than the stations themselfs. If they work on the outside like they are saying they will, the station outside being busy will be no different than the inside being busy. I think people are just upset the station would replace their ship view.

You would think people were happy CCP is developing a docking system where you CAN see the outside while docked. I do think interiors are nice, but that takes even more work, and these things look to be much larger than stations if it visibly has a docking spot for capitals.

I think null is becoming the future of EVE.

While the external camera will be cool, I'm hoping in the future we'll get back the captains quarters and hangar view, too.

So the way they are going to make stations destructible is to make them not stations at all (from a coding standpoint).

Not going to lie, that's pretty half assed. Also entirely predictable. Been a while since anyone at CCP had the guts to mess with the games base code and actually take responsibility for the outcome.

Excellent opportunity to return the, what, 20–24 station interiors we're still missing from the old days?

How do you know this? If it's the game's base code, I'd expect it to be messed with entirely out of our view in a test-type environment.

When a person is insane, as you clearly are, do you know that you're insane? Maybe you're just sitting around, reading 'Guns and Ammo', masturbating in your own faeces...do you just stop and go, 'Wow! It is amazing how f*cking crazy I really am!'?

Replace a line of code somewhere in the base code. Well done brave developer!

Replace a whole function. Way to go!

Replace a whole system with something new...

Actually, this is the smart way to go about it. The old station code, you wouldn't want to try and mess with it. By making new entities, they can handle things differently. The old stations were static. The new need to be modular.

Ship spinning and captains quarters are easily recreated as different modules, or are already different modules that can be integrated. It shouldn't have anything to do with the underlying code for how stations works.
