Goddammitall....

Huh. I'll keep that in mind. I had no idea, I would have assumed (like it sounds you did) that it would behave in the same way as depots.

I was going to rush to F&I and request that they be brought in line with other deployables, but then I looked up their price and now think that I may, instead, litter the Amarr/Jita pipe with them to generate hilarity and killrights. Pirate

Who knows, maybe this could be the start of some new killright scam....

I love it! Omg I might do that too! Not till I return from vacation though.

If this works out, and nobody else has claimed credit for doing it already, I'd like to call this "The Bronson", and to get killed via killright in this manner "Getting Bronson'd".

Time to invest in, and start researching, MMJU blueprints....

Lesson 76: Apparently, losec hotdropping is still a thing, all grumbling post-Phoebe to the contrary.

The bait ship was a badly damaged Augoror. It jumped through to hisec but it was pretty far off of the gate so I engaged it hoping I could take it down, but failed. I de-aggressed the gate guns and resumed my position camping the hisec gate.

Naturally, when the same Augoror pilot jumped back into losec, I figured I'd aggress. I was already suspect flagged so gate guns wouldn't shoot at me, and if he was stupid enough to not warp to the gate at zero before, maybe I could bag him pretty easily.

Then, I noticed that both of my pilots were tackled, unlike before.

Then, I noticed the cynos.

Well played gents. A bit of overkill, but well played nonetheless.

I got my pods out and thankfully wasn't fast enough on the draw to jump my 'Geddon that I had sitting on my third account ready to join the fray. I guess, for once, slow multi-boxing reflexes helped me....

Corollary to lesson 76:
When engaging a pilot named Very Superstitious...you should take him at his word....

I will refer to it as such.

Unfortunately, my early experiments have proven rather unsuccessful. I had my CEO alt drop a dozen of them along the Amarr/Jita pipe and not a one of them got shot at. Apparently, I was the only guy in hisec inclined to shoot things like this who didn't know that shooting them aggro'd gate guns.

Not sure how I feel about that....

Never a bad thing to learn new game mechanics. This game is so deep that I'm still learning things 8.5 years into it.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Safety set to green or yellow helps avoid such unpleasantries. You can even just flip safety off red for long enough to see if an object is attackable under a partial safety setting.

Reminds me of the time I was playing flashy games in the Nakugard ice field and I dropped a can to try and initiate an engagement with some greedy soul. I think a can dropped while suspect is accessable to all without consequence, but I was not aware of that at the time. I found the fish to be not of a biting mood, and docked up. I returned to the ice after my suspect tag had expired, to find the wreck of a Gallente advanced cruiser where I had left my jet can, which was nowhere to be found. I surmised that the Proteus pilot who had been impeding my efforts earlier had taken it upon himself to play space janitor.

Set safety to yellow when clearing navigational hazards, folks. CONCORD is a fickle mistress.

That's the thing: my safety was set to yellow. FacPo and CONCORD didn't respond, only gate guns. I know of no other action in hisec than can provoke a gate gun response and not spawn FacPo or CONCORD. Losec, sure, but not hisec. That's why I was surprised.

Lesson 77: No, you can't have my stuff. Due to out-of-pod circumstances, I will be taking a hiatus, including un-subbing all of my accounts in 20-ish days when they're up for renewal. I've got a lot of stuff on my plate right now, and it will be far easier to get it all dealt with without this potential distraction always lurking in the back of my mind. Needless to say, this means I'm yanking any plans for a CSM run. If I can't even dedicate enough time to EvE to stay subscribed, I would never be satisfied with the job I'd do there.

I'm hoping this will be temporary. I'm really curious to see what CCP has up their sleeves for citadels and I'd hate to miss that.

Corollary to Lesson 77: If it looks like this break is going to be more of a long-term thing, I may re-sub for a month and host a "Hey, come blow up my stuff in Amarr" event because I really hate leaving stuff laying around unviolenced. Pirate

I have immensely enjoyed reading your thread and your other quality posts. May your hiatus be short.

Thanks for the kind words folks, I really appreciate them and I've really enjoyed sharing my experiences. I thought Lesson 77 would be my last one, but it turns out that I am full of stuff to screw up...err...learn.

Lesson 78: Orderly retreats are proper form, and miscalculating remaining POS fuel makes for disorderly retreats. I missed my window to refuel and take down the moon goo modules by about eight hours and I missed refueling to save the moon goo mods by 54 minutes.

Oh well, less work for me! Lol
