Looking for advice on what should be on my elploration tab overview. I'd like as much space visibility as possible, but I don't want to miss anything important, like gankers, colideables or loot. What do you set on your overview?

loot+player ships, that's all you need.

Also overview isn't going to be the thing that saves you, that will be d-scan.

I do WH/Null- exploring to pay my bills and these overview settings helped me a lot.
You must face the fact, that exploring is much more PVP than most of the other professions. And most of the time you are the juicy, helpless prey, which needs to run from the predators. So having the most importent information clearly on top will safe your life.

So when I'm hacking, my overview only shows the hackable cans and player ships.
And the D-Scan shows probes, player ships, towers and bubbles.

Never needed more for hacking.

I would recommend loot, player ships, and something to warp to (planets, stations, gates and/or sun).

When I decloak next to you you don't want to take that one second to switch to a "Oh ^&*$, GTFO!!!!" tab.

On d-scan I would show player ships, probes (both regular and combat!), planets stations and gates. The latter may help you filter out regular system traffic from someone who is warping in close to you.

I would suggest assigning a color to player ships by setting "players with neutral standing" and "players with no standing" to have a color in the appearance -> background section of the overview settings. It's much more obvious that way when someone warps on grid with you while you are busy hacking.

Just make sure you use a color that isn't already used. You don't want to set neutrals to red and then accidentally be shooting them in front of CONCORD. I use one of the light blue colors (can't remember if it's the "good standings" blue or the "limited engagement" teal - but either way I rarely have a use for those colors).
