Just a thought
Create a system where all items have a point values
e.g
x1 amarr encryption methods ( SKILLBOOK ) = 1 point
jita value is 27 isk
x1 donut holder = 3 points
Jita value about 1.1m isk
items points would not be based on market prices but hold its own value in the system itself
by doing this it would eliminate alot of items that are crowding the market up ( not used or unusable ) or market is over saturated with the item/items
could also make turn in stations within low sec or player owned stations ,forcing more people into low sec and 0.0
rewards could be more useful items or a prestige system or a medal system of some type or whatever but it could not be any item already in the game as it would destroy the value of that item and how it was obtained either through ratting/moon mining/lp store and so on.But the reward could not be sellable or transfer account as it would lower the value of the reward even more allowing people to have to put in the work or buy the items to trade in themselfs


My point being is some items in the game are just not useful to have so many in the game itself that the value is little to no isk

So you want to make a points system for items that there are a lot of that would have some sort of value to the people with these items so that in the end theyd do what? Turn them in? for what more points? And the points would be worth what? In the end all you can make the points be worth is isk or noone would do it just for points on a board that are worthless.

Their value is set in the isk and the oversupply that is set by CCP through their drop tables. Your idea is convoluted and senseless at best. Thats already what the market is for.
