Group piloted Supercapitals

I've tried searching but with no luck.

A lot of people say that there's problem with the current state of Supercapitals. In my opinion they are flawed by design. Supers offer too much power for a single pilot and therefore they are required to offer significant amount of counterplay possibilities which now make them virtually unusable in serious combat.

We are basically between two fires now. You can't buff Supers as they are very powerful already for one man. You can't nerf them as it will make them even more useless than now.

In my humble opinion Supers are endgame content and they should provide real power for their owners. As a justification for that power I'd like to see cooperative piloting. I see it this way. Supercapital, i.e. Titan, has more than one slots for Pods. The owner of the ship takes the master slot and he is responsible for moving the ship. There are also some amount of gun towers, each of them requires another pilot to operate. This towers has their own shield/armor/structure hitpoints and their own fitting parameters, so they are basically a ship attached to the Titan's hull. They can be destroyed independently from the main hull and will eject the pod of the operator. You can ajust quantity and specialization of the towers like a tower with big guns, two towers with medium guns, a tower with small guns, four towers with remote reps, maybe even separate tower for a Doomsday.

This way you can justify extended power of Supers as they will require a whole bunch of people to operate at their full power and you can buff them enough to make them actually usable in combat.

sounds like this would fall under the umbrella of "docking in a piloted super" which can't be done due to legacy code.

which cannot be done because doing so would require a ground up recoding of eve starting from LITERALLY NOTHING...

Also if i buy a nyx i dont want anyone else having choices on my ship all this does is force me to get X alts to do the N-1 other roles my nyx would require...

So what if it was coded already.
THEN id give those docked pilots 4midslots that they can use to their liking. Of course theyd have to fit them themselfs. If the cap is killed, they die. They all use the same capacitor. They all have their own targets.

Using only one gun/turret is boring. Get them to do more. Midslot/ewar modules give them so much power. At least a newer player can then be useful and not die in a Maulus after two hits. Maulus has 4 midslots btw.
"Turrets" as a seperate target is a nice idea, but imho it does not provide that much more gameplay. Better to be able to give an enemy more heat-problems or modules take damage when in structure, but all that randomly. There is already enough targets on field when supers are deployed.

Why 4 midslots? Midslots actually need some brainpower to operate. Imho its enough to not stack with alts that much, therefor you might want to let actual humans board your ewarcontrols.
(what target to web, what logi to damp, do i want to use remote eccm?).

Now after the above you might want to consider nerfing all other stats. because OP! xD

Ideas are like Seeds. I'd chop fullgrown trees to start a fire.

That would be awsome. Gunjack Ahoy! Im looking forward to what CCP is planing for supers and titans. Maybe we will get Valkyrie, Gunjack and Dust into one boat...

Well, the main point is to multiply Supercapital's power with the amount of pilots docked in it. I.e. you can fit 40 turrets (or ECM-modules or anything you can think about) on the Titan but you'll require 10 (+/-) additional pods in it to operate them.

I don't like the idea to cover all these modules by the Titan's defense - they should be destroyable easier than the main hull. I'm imaging them as the gun towers - you can shoot them and incapacitate (or even destroy them). Not separating them will be like fielding a fleet of ships with single HP-bar which will explode simultaneously once their HP end.

Ships in eve are the pilots bodies but removing the lore aspect this doesn't work on a programming level the problem is supers can be supported by more supers and other caps with no real need for sub cap support that is what needs to change the hard part is to do that you need to nerff carriers hard
