Well no reply still on both my tickets i have open but have a random patch out of nowhere all of a sudden,
And after patching still no client launch, After some luck i was able to submit a Bug report on the situation and am awaiting a response no doubt they will surely take their time,

So I might be able to get the client running from the bin folder exefile, but have the difficulty of not exactly being able to log in due to lacking a proper Username and Password (since I use Steam to run EvE). Does anyone know of away around this log in for a steam user? Or is such a solution non-existent?

This morning I pulled up my launcher immediately after downtime, with the same issue, BUT
I went in the settings and used all Four clear cache options the after restarting the launcher attempted to Play, the game loaded the intro video and then finally went to the character selection screen! From there, I've so far been able to play the game properly

I hope clearing these caches work for anyone still having issues with the blacks screen

Open letter to CCP:

You have one job.

That is to provide to your paying customer base a reliable working product. That would be Eve Online. This takes into account such things as the Launcher, tools within the CCP file for repairs and updating, timely tech support when something in your product breaks, and that tech support be viable fixes to what is broken.

After silence from your new and improved Support Ticket system, I'm attempting to fix your broken product as it arrived via updates from your Launcher. I'm not software savvy, computer hardware is more my niche. Re-downloading the entire shared cache is not how I wanted to spend my Sunday, but the deafening silence from the Support Ticket along with your obvious absence here in this forum thread leaves me little choice if I want to use the Product I'm forking over cash to access without hitches, glitches, and bugs. What I have going for me some do not. I have spare time on my hands, unlimited data on my internet contract, and no throttling on my connection no matter how much I am uploading or downloading. So I'm not going to be facing a gigantic bill for Repairing Your Product For You.

Now my question to you, CCP, is this. When do I get my paycheck for doing someone else's job? Even better, when will you do your one job we're paying you for?

I get that New Eden is a harsh cruel cold place where Everyone Hates Me. For you to carry that theme over to out of game customer service is, well... pathetic. It is also a bad business practice.

Your silence is speaking an encyclopedia worth of volumes on your decision priorities. "If we ignore them long enough, they'll either cook up workarounds for us, shut up and deal with it, or leave our sandbox." Prove me wrong. I double dog dare you. Repair your product. After all, it is your one job.

Well the continued silence both here and on my trouble ticket is very telling. There is a text document in my EVE Online folder called debug and it has an entry for an error in the launcher for every time I have tried to launch the game. I added this to my trouble ticket yesterday and still nothing. As of a few minutes ago, Launching comes up on the launcher window for exactly 20 seconds before it goes back to PLAY. Meanwhile evefile.exe *32 is sitting in my my processes not doing a bloody thing.

Finally, my Launcher actually launches the client.

Did nothing new, just tried launching clients again from the Launcher after a DT update.

set Permissions for resfileindex_md5 and resfileindex_prefetch_md5 to full (same as administrator) for both files . they can be found in the C: programdata /ccp/eve/sharedcache folder . your welcome . ccp yes you could hire me but im not cheap like your support .....
this is a result of microshat changing your permissions due to fubard update or a virus check your pc's folks

If anyone is having issues with their rescache.exe freezing, not completing it's scan, or just plain not working, I did find a fix. However, there are no guarantees for anyone else if you give this a try. As this was locking up so I could not tell if/which files were missing and/or corrupt, a Support Ticket that started it's life ignored for a few days then getting the canned response of 'are you running things as Admin?" along with sheer frustration, here's what I tried. Creativity and agitation makes for great inventions. Sometimes.

As usual with any of player submitted fixes or repairs, user mileage may vary and try at your own risk!

Delete the entire shared resources folder in the CCP folder. Yup. All of it. Gone to the great Recycle Bin in the sky. Then delete rescache.exe itself. Run the current repair.exe to get it back.

Then run the rescache.exe. As everything is gone it's going to list a giant number of missing files.

Download.

Hope that you have unlimited data on your internet connection.

Zero guarantees. But beats twiddling your thumbs waiting for a Dev or tech support drone to come up with a canned response to your latest software issue with Eve that doesn't work anyways.

Is it just me, or is it kinda sad that the Galatea- Issues thread has devolved to players fixing other players' problems, and silence from anyone in CCP? Do we need to call The Atlantic Paranormal Society to track down some Phantoms for replies?

Having issues updating launcher after this most recent patch. Will uninstall and reinstall, and see if it takes over fromthere.

Patch loading errors were and will be as long as CCP uses only 1 available source to download.
I can not load new EVE launcher or patch, because servers

often have too much data loss.
