Sorry, could someone please link to the exact changes that are not being implemented? Was it all of https://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/fleet-warp-changes-coming-in-august-release/ or some subset?

I think a better way to improve line fleet member gameplay would be to add relevant combat actions beside hitting align and activating guns. More active modules, with larger variety of effects, and more slots to use them. Or perhaps something similiar to T3 destroyers switching modes, but with even more options and branches. And for most ships, not just the token few.

But I'm pretty sure that would take much more effort than fleet bookmarks, so yeah.

Yeah, because adding tedium to a game always works out, amirite?

What hes really saying is: he was looking forward to farming even more kills from 80km in an oracle without tackle being warped on top of him.

Thank you for reconsidering how fleetwarp will be changed. Implementing the changes as first advertised would have made it all but impossible to catch kiting setups, something that is already frustratingly hard to do. The game needs more ways to get in fights not less; making crazy eyes at people from extreme range without anyone ever committing to a fight is frustrating and dull.

Since this is scraped, can you just make bombers decloak themselves again?

For bombers to be a problem people would have to fly battleships on the reg. CCP has made it clear that this is not what they have in mind for EVE 2015

If you had done more of this sooner I might still be giving you my money rather than other companies. It's a step in the right direction but a small one at that. You have alot of work to do if your going to win back your player base

Sorry to hear the technical hurdles with the bookmark and fleet warp systems in their current states were too difficult to work with. I was really looking forward to the changes, and some of the feedback that was incorporated made it even better.

I hope this technical redesign of bookmarks will be open to feedback. I think there is a lot of improvement that can be done to Bookmarks in general to make them easier to work with and share. Some ideas that I think came out of the Fleet Warp Roundtable:

  • Have the option to set an expiry time for bookmarks so they automatically remove themselves after 16-48 hours - this would be amazing for wormhole bookmark auto-maintenance.
  • Have the ability to share a folder of bookmarks to multiple whitelisted characters (alts) or an entire fleet.
  • Make the ability to share bookmarks easier than manually dragging them a few at a time into vouchers, storing them in a can, and having to have the recipient do the same 1-to-1.
  • Design the UI so when you have 2000+ bookmarks, You don't have to shift+click+drag and HOLD while you scroll up through 1000 entries in a folder with your mouse wheel, to drag bookmarks from corporate to personal (for example) or just between folders.
  • Remove the need to drag a copy of corporate bookmarks to personal in order to share them. Just having a synchronize or transfer option would be better.
  • Have the ability to create multiple folder layers instead of just one.
  • Have the ability to "favorite" certain bookmarks so they always show up on the right click menu, rather than having to go multiple layers deep to get to it, or have the People & Places window open directly on that bookmark to access it quickly.
  • Have the ability to search for bookmark "tags" or "keywords".

Just wanted to say that I am impressed with this statement and design philosophy. I very much look forward to seeing the new concepts. Good job.

You mean you don't enjoy orbiting endless numbers of nodes while trying to find something to watch on netflx/playing another more engaging game?

Page 1 and already off topic, lovely. Because shooting a ******* structure for three hours is superior to orbiting nodes?

Good to hear. The proposed change did not make sense from a technology perspective or consistency perspective.

Good. Wasn't broken, didn't really need to be changed. Will be interested in new features rather than nerfs to existing ones. Thank you for listening.

So now that common sense has reappeared can we get back to solving the real problems related to fleet warps

  • The ridiculous ease of Combat probing has completely killed all the old sniper doctrines (425mm Railgun Mega's anyone ?)
  • Bombs have completely killed shield Battleship doctrines

Good decision. Removing fleet warp wasn't the answer to bombers being OP.

Hi Internet Space Pilots,

We’re not releasing the proposed fleet warp changes with the Vanguard release. The implementation of the fleet-based bookmarks is more technically costly that we had hoped. We’re not prepared to release this version of the warp changes without the fleet bookmark system.

Regarding fleet warps, we’re going to look at alternative design solutions. We would like to incentivize players rather than remove existing functionality.
Regarding bookmarks, there are very early plans for a technical redesign. This should lead to many advantages, including (but not limited too) fleet bookmarks.

We appreciate the passionate feedback from the community regarding this issue.

Cheers,
CCP Larrikin

I am pleased you took the time to listen to our concerns and will be implementing this properly at a later date.

Thanks so much for the delay and reconsideration, Dark! You know how much I was stressing about the change to fleet warps Big smile I feel my blood pressure dropping back to normal already!

Although I must admit I am disappointed that the bookmark changes are also delayed - the proposed bookmark changes are fantastic, they give everyone in fleet some amazing options and numerous tactical choices - I'm more than happy to continue using the existing bookmark system if it means we don't lose our fleet warps Lol At least for now....

Thanks so much for delaying and reconsidering the fleet warp changes. The proposal really did not address any of the issues it was supposed to, would have made fighting sniping and kiting gangs even more difficult, would have negatively impacted small gangs and new player gangs far more than big gangs, and would have created significantly more work and stress for our scouts and FCs.

I look forward to seeing what the new proposal will be in the future!
